Got these tires installed on my wife’s ‘21 sdrive yesterday. Set the pressure at 34 psi front and 40 psi rear. Will adjust if needed after driving around some, I think I’ll drop the rear to 38 psi.
Not the best picture, it was cloudy and I was in a hurry. |

When you pick up your built at the performance center, do you have to stay the entire day, or just pick up your vehicle and drive home? I’m really not interested in doing the track time etc.

We were able to get back to Raleigh area that evening after doing all 3 segments; Driving Experience, Factory Tour, Vehicle Delivery. This also included lunch. Each segment is about 2 hours. Sounds like you only want to do the Vehicle Delivery/Ultimate Delivery Experience where you'll meet with a BMW Product Specialist for a couple hours. See if you can arrange to just do that segment. |

I am not sure that is true. I am running non OEM sizes in my F30 and they were bought, installed and rotated at Costco in two different states.

Well as a policy costco doesn’t install non-OEM size tires. I’ve been told that in-person and shown the policy. But I guess enforcing that might also depend on the person at the front desk you’re talking to.

I have not seen the policy, but I have never had an issue, now, I have been purchasing tires at Costco for over 20 years.

I thought about going with the Primacy as well. Appreciate this thread. Ultimately decided to use the new Yokohama Geolandar X-CV XL. It actually comes in the appropriate size and has a higher speed rating for what it matters. Being installed next week as they had to be shipped from the main US warehouse in Nevada.
My local indie shop did advise that some with the X5 that went to AS tires have had warnings from the iDrive when they go into sport mode. Has anyone here had a similar issue?

One thing that needs to be acknowledged before going to this setup is it will change driving style a lot. Ride will be softer than 19" stock run flats. Michelin Primacy AS is super smooth tire. It is much quite and good at hiding road imperfections even they are pretty large. However, ride will be much softer.(It becomes similar to Range Lover's)
