As long as there are no delays, you should have no problem getting it before the end of the year, it should only take 2 days or so for it to arrive so likely will get it the first week of December.

M sport (20" 740M wheel)

I was told by SA that the delay is due to shortage of 20" wheel that impacted almost all October production.

Not sure if it is normal for SA to swap a new production number, and how it will help? I am guessing perhaps the priority of production assignment is based on the scheduled week regardless of when allocation was acquired? so the new allocation is more likely to be fulfilled than the delayed one?

I will cancel the order if it's not delivered by mid December

The date is tied to the allocation however in the large majority of times the production number is swapped so the original can be sold to someone else.

I've ordered a 2023 X5 sDrive40i in Alpine White with Coffee interior with Premium/Driving Assistance Pro/Parking Assistance packages. Ordered at dealer on Oct 12, received production number on Oct 13, and on Oct 17th entered "Production Started - 150 status".

Is there any way I can guesstimate how long the production process will take/when car will be delivered now that production has started?

Welcome to the forum. Is there any way I can guesstimate how long the production process will take/when car will be delivered now that production has started?
You can either ask your CA, call Genius or use the F12 process (links to instructions below look for prodDate) to get your production date. Going to Production Begins (150) does not mean that assembly has started but rather that a VIN has been assigned and parts ordered/allocated. The actual assembly will take less than a day.

Safari: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=164

Delivery time will depend on where you live. For example, the East Coast will be a day or two but the West Coast 2 or 3 weeks.

Hello All,

I placed an order for a 23 45e beginning of the month, got the production number I think same day as order placed, the site changed to scheduled for production few days after. Was told by dealer that production week is 43, but at week 43 when I called the dealer I was told its now week 46. Site still shows scheduled for production.

Im kind of in a bad situation where we have 1 car and lease(in extension at this point) is up end of Nov. I knew going in to this there might be delays, but Im trying to estimate when I will get it. I spoke to dealer and he is saying anywhere from December to end of January and this is the best guestimate they can provide.

So I tried the F12 trick to get the date and it seems to show "prodDate":"","retlDate":,

Im in NY and from my understanding the delivery it self shouldnt be long.

Can any one please help with a better guestimate then end of January ?

Beginning of December-ish if no additional delays.

I find it odd that your dealer thinks it will take 1-2 months from the production date until delivery.

This may just be your dealer's attempt to under promise and over deliver.

The prodDate isn’t filled in until you hit the Production Begins (150) status. Give Genius a call to verify your production week. It will take about two days from when it is finished for it to arrive at your dealer. You can have it and turkey for Thanksgiving.

Just spoke to genius and basically same thing. Week of 46 is production.
Interesting thing that they did tell me.

They said order was received on Sept 28th. Interesting date, because that's the date I came to speak with them and did not purchase anything, and that's the original date he was showing me that there is a car scheduled for the week of 43rd. They said that production date was assigned of 46th week, was on Oct 7th, I placed the actual order on Oct 1st and got the production number from him on Oct 3rd.

So Im almost thinking they did not put me in the slot assigned for week of 43rd and instead just placed a new order. Anyway nothing I can do now but wait.
I just might end up with out a car for few weeks. Need to find a cheap rental

X5 Delivered!

Adding my information to the thread:

M50i
Carbon Black
Tartufo Ex. Merino Leather
Dynamic Handling Pkg.
Trailer Hitch
Driving Assistance Prof. Pkg.
Parking Assistance Pkg.
Exec. Pkg.
Climate Comfort Pkg.
21" M bi-color wheels
Massaging Seats
Carbon Fiber trim
M 50 Yrs emblems

Status:
10/8/22 Order submitted & Production number received
10/17/22 Got VIN from BMW Genius line
10/22/22 Vehicle status changed from Scheduled for Production to Awaiting Carrier Assignment
10/25/22 Vehicle arrived at dealer
10/27/22 Picked up from dealer

That's less than 3 weeks from order to delivery. I've never ordered a car and had it delivered that fast. So far, I'm very impressed. Previous car was a 2015 Jeep GC SRT, which was a fun car, but the X5 is so much more refined and smoother riding.

So If I have 11/10 Production date.

When do we think the car will be in PA.

Like the earliest it could be there. I have a concert on Nov 18th that I am not willing to give up the tickets and then there is Thanksgiving.

(I am traveling from Chicago to PA to pick this up and trade in a car).

I would say the 12th would be the earliest. Depending where, it should take a couple of days to get to PA.

Thanks. Was looking at the PTo calendar at work and could potentially pick up on the 14th. Very risky if there are any 1-2 delays in QC / transport. So I think this one is out the door.

My next available date to pick up realistically is the Saturday after Thanksgiving followed by December 1st. LOL.

Dealer is going to be mad if I drag this out to December... but if this had stuck to week 47 then it would be around that time anyway.

Make sure you are communicating with your dealer, don't want them to think it will just be easier to sell it to someone else rather than waiting for someone who isn't picking it up.

Good advice. Everyone is aware.

They are waiting for my M2CS .

I am not worried. I can order the same x5 in a heartbeat.

I think I will be in the same situation. Im estimating the best case that mine will arrive the dealer Nov 26-27 and unsure if they can hold until Dec 3 the only time im available to pickup.

My CA once told me that are willing to hold 1 week but if I'm not there by end of the month, they will sell it to someone else. Still a gray area to me.

I'm thinking maybe I'll do an online transaction with then by the end of Nov? I know you will advice I should inspect the vehicle thoroughly before the purchase. Let me know your thoughts how I can talk to my CA.

Once it starts to get closer to the pickup time I would let your CA know when you will be free for pickup. Hopefully they understand you are limited in the times that you are available. I think the biggest thing is letting them know beforehand so everyone's expectations are met. In your situation is it near Thanksgiving so that will have some days where it is natural so not be available. Let us know how it goes.

Let us know how it goes.
