I believe it’s for cars with idrive 8 or 8.5 but not 100% sure.

You will see warnings in hud and cluster if the car thinks you are going to run a red light or blow through a stop sign. E.g traveling too fast and not slowing down.

You may also see a road sign on HUD and cluster when there is no right turn on red.

I wonder if it has something to do with this MobilEye update.

The article does say EyeQ4 cars will be eligible for a software update.

I currently have 2023-07 on my 2024 50e but for the past four days, it is stuck trying to upgrade (doesn’t say to what version). It just says “ paused BMW upgrade, will resume shortly”. As far as being able to view the drive recorder and remote camera on the app, I have always been able to do that - even before the upgrade from 8.0 to 8.5. Anyone know how to make this update start again? It is unclear if it is downloaded to the phone or vehicle or if it has partially installed etc. there is no info other than the one screen showing the pause - both in the car and on the app.

My dealer did it on mine and for the first time, an update hasn’t removed my anti dazzle coding. Is there anything particular about this update for idrive 7?

Mine was blocked from installing with a message saying to drive the car to charge the starter battery. Then later it said it would resume, but never did. Now it is gone after about 5 days.

I guess BMW pulled the plug on the update? I'm already on 11/2023/30 after having some service work done.

Had the same issue and indeed the update is suddenly gone.

Updates for iD7 should just be bug fixes and maybe some small adjustments. I'm not sure they even mention iD7 in regards updates anymore.

Just to note they applied this to fix my instrument screen from content disappearing seems to be working fine now as well as the Apple airplay not always connecting also seems to be working fine now.

The road sign detection was interesting- I didn’t realize it was on until it starting popping up various signs, however, thought I ran a red light when it was just a blinking yellow light and started flashing all sorts of alarms.

Took car in for updating to 11/2023, they have just called to say that battery charge was at 48% and car limits functions including over air updates. They are keeping it overnight to charge battery and should then work. Will post what happens as app says no updates available and car on 03/2023.

Yes, i also got notified of new s/w update. Both in vehicle notification and on the mybmw app. Since i already have a earlier version of 11/2023 it was about 340MB in total.

I made the mistake of choosing to update via the car, so it uses car cellphone to download, and boy is that slooooooooooow. At about 88% so will now see tomorrow when i use the car again if it will complete during driving.

I am having the same issue with the battery I think. Is there a way to check the battery charge level?

Maybe iD8.5 is different but there was no native way to check it in iD7. You needed to use Bimmerlink, a multimeter or cigarette lighter plug-in.

Thanks, I have a multimeter, what should the battery read if ok? Above 12.05v 50%? Will I get an accurate reading from the cigarette lighter port?

The most accurate reading would be from the battery. If I wasn't going to get it there then I would get it from the starting aid terminals under the hood.

Yes, that would be 50%. I think you need above 80% for the install.
