OMG $515 dollars to update software
haha I just had to pass this along, My wife's X1 is getting serviced and I mentioned there may be an update to the software. I don't have her car on the BMW app but there is an update.
They wanted to charge $515 to update the software. I think I will add her car to the BMW app and apply them myself if the X1 can do it. Just had to pass that along. |

And some dealers will also make you sign away your warranty rights in case the update has a problem. Needless to say, best not to have a dealer perform the update unless it is tied to a warranty repair.

Not sure those reasons are enough to justify the cost or the risk of a SW update.
