Brakes grinding
Well the X5 is about 2 months old now, and I've always had this brake/disc grinding sound coming from the passenger front brake, and it only happens/sounds when I'm driving real slow and applying the brake; you'd hear that typical metal-metal grinding sensation. Initially I thought there might have been some debris stuck between the pad/rotor, but none to be seen. So I though a few hundred miles would dissolve whatever was causing it. The brakes and rotor still look fine , but that damn sound is still there. It was there when I had the 22" summer wheels on, and still there when I changed out to the 20" winter wheels. I'm gonna take it in later this week to have the $tealerlook at it.
Any thoughts?

Did the dealer find a resolution on your brake issue?

Not sure if the sound is the same as mine - I describe it was a loud creaking sound. If brake hard - no issue. Slow braking (like baking up or parking) sounds terrible.
Had the dealer look at it early on. I was given a pamphlet on BMW brakes and no change. The worse time is when the car is auto parking. It's so loud I'm almost embarrassed to use that feature. For what it is worth - I recently had a bad mechanical failurehttps://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1813972 that had the car in the shop for a while. The loaner I had made a similar sound though not as loud. |
