741m Square Setup

Has anyone put a square 21" setup on the G05? Can you share pictures?
Looking to buy 741m wheels and putting wider tires to get the tire I want. The second part of the question is do you think I will be okay fitting 285/40/21 all around on a square 741m setup? Going with a non run-flat setup.

Difference looking at the tire size calculator between front stock 275 and 285 is 1%.

Travel up and down the turnpike a good bit between NC and NJ, and just want to be consistent on treadwear and replacing tires without having to worry about staggered setup.

My x5 is a 2019 xline 40. Do not have air suspension or any type of suspension dampening control.

Thanks

Interesting question. Did you mean to use the rear wheel size or front wheel size on all four corners?

I was thinking the front 9.5 all around. My current setup is 20x9 on 275/45 all around.

Not sure if the 10.5 will fit in front.

10.5 likely wouldn’t fit up front... at least not well. Though I’m sure some folks would try it.

If the tire size is off by 1% you shouldn’t see much of a difference. I’d check with the local tire place to make sure the 285 will fit on the 9” rim, though I would anticipate it will fit but not look as aesthetically sleek (ie the rubber will look more like a muffin too than a washboard to the rim.) this would be more of an off-road look than a sports car look, but would be far more practical if you are anywhere close to a curb.

Thanks JC. I will def bring it by a shop. I can see the muffin for sure on a 9" and am hoping that extra .5 on the 21x9.5 evens it out a bit.

You could definitely go 9.5 all around but will have issues with a factory offset 741M 10.5 on the front. A forum member accidentally mounted his on front and scarred the inside of wheel and control arm.

Trying to locate the post and pics.

Auricom ApexG5 here's the link to that thread. the OP later posted he went with 10.5" all around but not with OEM 741M. interested to know what final offset was used and if spacers were involved.

Don't put your rear wheels up front by accident... https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1818307

Thanks for locating the post.

Ja, I should have clarified to say that you could fit 10.5 in front if you used different offsets than OEM, but personally I think 10.5 is a bit excessive for the fronts.
