My X5 actually came with 22" 742M in gloss black, so I wanted something different for my winter wheels. Still gloss black, but different design and 20" to allow for more tire sidewall, especially considering how well potholes hide underneath snow.

Hi Fuzzy Master, did you ended up buying the 67mm centre caps? I am looking for a set, I believe the part number is 36136783536. Since these were replica I was also expecting the caps will be same as the OEM. I put on some stickers now, but most likely they'll come off over time. The shop where I bought the wheels gave these to me.

No and I probably won't. I like the all black look now that I 've had it for a while.

I've only really had a chance to put a few thousand kilometres on them due to that covid thing, but I've been happy with them so far.

The G4 is an all-weather (rather than all-season) tire so I should have expected decent dry road performance, but I was concerned about the traction & noise impact due to the compromises.

They've been quieter and smoother on dry pavement than I was expecting, and the few times I've been able to drive in snow, I've felt very in control. I also intentionally disabled DSC and tried some drifting in a local parking lot, just to see what it was like. Pulling away from a stop in deep snow was no issue and the traction was consistent.

No regrets so far. I also can't say enough about the service from my local KAL tire. They even spray painted the balance weights black before installing them so they don't stand out on black rims.

thanks, do you know why my discount would want to put 265/50/20 oppose your sizing?

Maybe the specs for the rims you're using? or maybe tire availability?

I went with stock BMW rim (& tire) sizes just to keep everything simple and straightforward. I also started shopping in August so I was able to get what I wanted when I was ready and saved some money (on the rims) at the same time. By the time winter arrived, I noticed rims were about 25% higher and many places were out of stock.

Hi

How did these rims hold up through the winter?
Whats the quality like as well?

Any input on these or other replica brands?

I am considering a set for my winters and looking at options.

Thanks

They held up great. They still look brand new. I can't see any visible signs of wear and tear although I probably didn't do as much driving this past winter as I would normally do. I'm also really happy with the tires; comfortable, quiet, and predictable in the snow and on wet roads.

Considering the price compared to OEM wheels, I'm sure the quality is also nowhere near that of OEMs. They're mostly for winter use and I'd consider them almost consumable/disposable at the price I paid.

Hi! I know it's been a year since you've visited this thread, but I just ordered a 2022 M50i and I'm planning to purchase winter wheels.

I'm looking to get these:
https://www.wheelwiz.ca/wheels/repli...90-44mn-35c666

I was just wondering if the OEM lug nuts worked fine for these rims? Or should I get a separate set? I shouldn't need any type of hub centric rings since the bore size is the exact same size as OEM rims, correct?

I'm planning to get these as well (I believe they should be correct?):

The specs look the same as the ones I bought so should be no issue and definitely hub-centric is the way to go. I used the OEM lug bolts also with no issues.

From the details in the listing, they seem to be correct. They do seem to be pretty inexpensive though to be the actual BMW part as suggested in the listing, so I would just confirm with the seller that they are pre-programmed for BMW & will work with your 2022 X5 M50i. Coming from Slovakia could mean a long wait and potentially additional costs for customs, duty, and taxes.

Thanks for reading!

Looks great. I just got the same wheels in 21x10.5 with 295/35 square winter setup. I think I like these more than the stock 22's.

Looks nice. Already putting these on? Winter coming early in BC 🙂?

I have 20x9 in square setup with Michelin PA5 non-RFT 275/45R20 tire. I am using the stickers for the hubcaps. Are you doing the same?

Thanks ..and tell me about it. What happened to summer? As of 10/1 some roads (like the Sea to Sky to Whistler) require winter tires. I have to drive up that way quite a bit for work so better to be prepared.

These particular wheels are from a company called Rim Alloy Canada (RAC) and actually came with BMW center caps. (They also came with black caps).

Thanks for your very informative posts and information. I liked what you did and followed your recipe - art replica 181 from wheelwiz, schrader oem tpms, etc. My 2020 G05 currently has the 22" inch staggered wheels. Is there any need for spacers on the back wheels to push out the 275 wheels back to factory spacing?

I personally don't think wheel spacers are a good idea under any conditions, but looks are very subjective, so go for it if you feel they are needed. Just remember that, especially in the winter, the further the tires stick out, the more shit they are kicking up onto the side of your X5.

A wider stance looks great in the summer but I'm not a fan with winter wheels & tires.

Many thanks. Makes sense. The majority of opinions I have now received are that spacers are a bad idea due to additional stress on the hub and also different tire tracks in the snow.
I think I will stick with the original square setup.
I really appreciate the original post as I think the art replica 181 wheels are a great look at a good price point. Thanks again.

I understand the tracking angle, but I’ve not heard a quality spacer is Bad for the hub? Does anyone else have feedback or a professional assessment here? Maybe… r33_RGSport

Finally got my set installed today!

I'm running a 275/45/20 square set up, Michelin X-Ice Snow. I used to run a set of Blizzaks on my old ride, I'll see how these compare.

They definitely do, despite it saying it may not on their site.

I reached out to Wheelwiz and they let me know about this mistake!
