Ordered '21 X5 xDrive 40i yesterday. MSRP $69345, paid $59,995. Discount 13.5%, not too shabby.

Just for clarity/consistency, was your discount 13% or are you including incentives?

And very unlikely. This sounds like an 8% discount + incentives thrown on the top, but let’s see what the official response is.

I agree.

On my second purchase for my M50i (being built) there was a special circumstance as they had my 2020 G05 in the shop for over a month and the very best I was able to negotiate was 10% pre-incentive and 4500 on the incentives. I seriously think that's the best I will ever do! Very pleased.

10.5% off on a 45e pre-incentive, and the SA registered both my wife and me for an event. I reiterate however, our X5 45e order was placed in December and the market is not discounting as heavily today. We picked up our car on Saturday and our SA told us that they literally had no unsold 45e units in their inventory and/or in transit and the deal we got could not be replicated today. That said, when I asked if they were still discounting, he did say yes. For reference, some of the Bay Area dealers I called were not discounting at all back in December. My best guess is that they would land somewhere between 6-8% off today and most other bay area dealers would politely tell you to pound sand if you wanted a discount on a 45e. I think other trims are less constrained.

Separately, for what it's worth, we crunched numbers on both a lease and a purchase and found the purchase of a 45e to be compelling. Purchase incentives on our deal included $500 OL Code for the event, $1000 loyalty, $2500 finance, $1500 CA State Clean Fuel Rewards, and a $7500 federal tax credit (come tax time next year). The last 2 incentives only apply to the 45e trim. This made buying an otherwise identically equipped 45e considerably less expensive than a 40i, which is not how they lease.

^ This is a very helpful post...thank you. Inventory on bothered the 45e and M50i looks very light right now. I was poking around at a few dealers for fun, and they seemed to have almost exclusively 40i’s in the X5.

I always wonder if people are using the correct denominator. (MSRP).

If anybody is happy with 8% off in SoCal, I can share details via pm.
Hi,
Can you share the dealer details and the contact i can reach out to.

I am crunching the same numbers and coming to the same conclusion. The standard advice is 'never buy a new BMW as the depreciation will kill you'.

But looking at a lease (actually 2 x 3 year lease to make it comparable) and a purchase financed by BMW @ 0.9% over 5 or 6 years........I figure I'm $22K+ better off at the end of year 6 by buying rather than leasing (assuming the 45e is worth 33% of MSRP at that time). If you think that is too rich, then the 45e has to be worth $0 to make the numbers comparable.....so anything >$0 and I win the math.

If you prefer over just 3 years then my calculation says I win by $12K+ assuming the car is worth 58% of MSRP (41% is break-even), so pick your guesstimate.

^ I agree with you.

Purchasing is almost always better if you are keeping the vehicle for over 5 years. This rule of thumb applies more to ICE cars than EV, but I think it is still the case with the 45e.

Working with dealers in PHX area now. Anyone have recommendations? X5 xDrive 40i is what I'm looking to order. Haven't had anyone offer below MSRP so far.

What brands qualify for conquest and where can you see this info?

I wouldn't get loyalty since I sold my bmw in December but overall I see the discounts be pretty much all over the place

I figured finding a build someone had would be easier but literally none have close to the combination I want

Executive
Driver assistance
Competition
Cf trim
Upgraded surround sound

Mineral white with sakhir orange/black

Or

Blue with sakhir orange/ black

All I see is donington Grey and that purple/maroon color

I'd be happy with keeping a lease payment of 1200-1400 max

It can definitely be done

Yesterday I ordered my X5 xDrive40i and got 8% off MSRP. Easy, no hassle, and fast. 5 1/2 hours from first contact to payment of deposit.

Thanks to everyone who replied to me 2 weeks ago regarding SF Bay Area dealer contacts. I can PM if anyone wants the contact I used.

I believe loyalty would apply as long as you owned a BMW within the prior 12 months.

I am trying to buy a 2021 X5 from inventory. Would order for 10% off plus incentives, got that from two dealers. My dilemma is you can't order with air suspension. The car i found MSRP $80,545 is a managers car with 1600 miles on it. They are starting at $5500 off pre $3500 in incentives which equals 6.82% off. What should I shoot for on what I would consider a demo? Is 12% off MSRP to much?
I appreciate any insights. Also is anyone else trying to wait out no air-suspension on new build? If I had any confidence on that being available anytime soon I would just wait and order exactly what I want.

I'm waiting on air suspension for a new build. I need the third row so I don't really have a choice! Hopefully it's not a long wait!

Thank you! Can anyone confirm this?

Also

For a lease there's lease cash, loyalty and what other incentives?

I'm not military, or usaa. But true car quotes are easy to draft up.

Iam Amex member ( which is asked when you submit for a quote on true car etc )

Costco some places too

Also.. what qualifies for conquest. What brands years /models and how much is the rebate?

Thank you so much in advance

Dealer incentives bay area (X45e or X6 x40e)

Hi,

With the supply limited, I got one or two quotes like 5% off MSRP. Can someone pls PM me their bay area dealer contacts to check for additional incentives before any post-incentive rebates?

Thanks,

I thought if you didn't have a current BMW then you had to have a BMWFS loan or lease within the last 12 months but I could have read bad info, check with a dealer.

There is no Conquest incentive available for the X5M.

You can go through TruCar or Costco but will likely get less of a discount than if you negotiated yourself.

There is no Amex incentive with BMW.

Loyalty is the only incentive, there is no lease cash available.
