Friendly PSA

Friends don't let friends drink and drive WITH LANE ASSIST ON! Went to dinner with the wife had one glass of wine. Way home go to switch lanes, nobody else around. No need for blinker that mother fucker jerked my ass so hard a cop saw it and pulled me over to ask if I'd been drinking. Thank god I stopped at one. Fuck that stupid ass feature!!!

TURN IT OFF

This is scary and funny at the same time. However, BMW should do something about this feature quickly especially since no one seems to think it's aiding in safety.

In some states they can still arrest you if they believe the one drink impaired you enough (even if you're below the legal limit)

Kind of like the 2:22 mark here?

I had a hard time deciding if that video worked better in the "rear seat leather wrinkly" thread ( 24 sec mark, 56 sec mark and 1:17 mark - worst wrinkles), but even the front seats looked wrinkled under some of those forces...

Be safe out there...

[Edit] P.S. Gotta wonder what's going on at the 1:47 mark... severed head test? Bouncing off the hood? Any better guesses?

Yeah, I turned that crap off right after the first time it moved the wheel on me. I have it turned off in the M2 as well, but at least in that car it merely vibrates the steering wheel (which is still annoying) and does not actually force you back into the lane. At least you can shut this one off, unlike collision avoidance...can't seem to find how to shut that off.

Had wife's key fob which didn't have it disabled under her profile.

That thing scared the Sh.. out of me during my test drive! When we got back to the dealership we searched for a way lessen the severity of the correction. It's way to abrupt for sure.

When I did my first test drive I noticed the steering and immediately turned it off. the CA was wondering what I was doing because apparently he didn't know you could disable it.
