Another BMW Connected question
I have had my X5 since November 1 and the Connected App 3D View has always worked but since the other day the 3D View feature tells me it’s disabled when in fact it is enabled. I did the latest app update too. Anyone having this glitch? Otherwise loving my X5.

Yes, I am having that glitch. It said to enable it in the vehicle and the vehicle says it is in fact enabled. On the app it shows the 3D view from several weeks ago. Also otherwise loving my new X5 too! Would no way in hell wish I had waited till later when all the bugs were fixed...

I am having the same issue with 3D. Also, my X5 is not receiving nav directions from places I search for on the app. I can however, remotely start the vehicle with the app. I have tried reinstalling the app twice, but so far nothing. I picked up my X5 yesterday.

I’ve only known about it since last night. I tried it two weeks ago at a Starbucks and it worked. Last night it didn’t. Haven’t tried it otherwise. When I pull it up now it still shows the pics from two weeks ago. Oddly, My X is black, but the pics are of a light gray X which isn’t even offered in the configurator. Weird schtuff.

I had this same glitch and found a fix.
Tried this to troubleshoot - Toggle 3D View in Privacy on/off - Went to Apps and clicked options to download updates - Updated the IOS app The fix in the end was to delete the profile from the car. Then create a new user with the same BMW connected email address you are using on your app. Once you do this, you will notice in privacy that the 3D option is unchecked in privacy and checking it will fix it. I believe when I first received the car, the BMW Genius just typed in some names and it wasn't actually associated to the email address since I never saw him enter my email address or ask for password. That would also explain why when I went into the profile, the synchronize profile button was unchecked and there was no way to set it to sync. I believe the BMW Genius need to update their procedures for helping new owners setup their profile. This seems to be happening a lot to folks |

I checked my profile and found I didn’t even have one set up in the X. So I set mine up. I also deleted the app and installed it again. Now on the app it no longer says 3D isn’t set up in the vehicle, but the former pics at Starbucks is gone and replaced by a pic of my X in some building that may be the Welt in Munich. When I try to refresh it just spins. I don’t get why the app used to work but quit on me.

The picture of the car in Germany is the default picture that you see before you request the first 3D pic. You are seeing this because you created a new profile.
The old pics you took at Starbucks will be lost since it wasn’t sync’ing to any profile |

So it should be working now then right? But it isn’t. When I hit refresh it says loading but never loads. It knows where the vehicle is, though.

It takes awhile to perform. Even longer I believe if it has to unfold your mirrors.
If you don’t see the privacy error then it might be something else. I’ve had it spin for awhile sometimes. Sometimes it returns sometimes it doesn’t. |

FYI - I've had trouble getting it to work when it had to unfold the mirrors. I've since disabled the "fold mirrors when locking" feature and it seems to respond better.

What’s annoying is how the status doesn’t ever update. If you lock/unlock the doors via the app, it doesn’t update the app about the status of the doors being locked/unlocked

Maybe I needed to give it more time. I was sitting in the car cycling through unlock and lock.
I assumed once the command completed it would update the app instantly. Maybe it takes longer. Also the last updated time doesn’t change when I try to refresh within the app. Seems to only do it once I lock/cycle through the restart of the car. It’s an improvement over the last generation of the app but it still seems a slow in responding |
