Just got my X5 and replaced the side vents with the M version. I'll see what I can do with the labels.
- put painters tape around the vents on the door side then use a trim removal tool. There are 3 yellow tabs along the edge. Start with the bottom tab and work up slowly pry and lift outward so the yellow tabs don't fall inside.
Once original vent is removed and tape is removed use alcohol wipe to clean the side closet to the door.
Place the M vent for fitting then remove red tape strip and push in slowly till it pops in and push where double side tape is for 5 min.
Good Luck took me 20 min.

A suggestion to mask the badges: take a small rectangle of black gloss PPF and mask the M or the X5? I suggest PPF over vinyl cause PPF is more durable and holds a smoother finish/gloss.

As a side note, personally I don't care if people leave M badges on non M vehicles. Plus M-Sports come dressed in M badges as it is. In the end it's your car, do what works for you! Sounded like you were interested in fixing the badging though so thought I'd toss out my $0.02

Another option is from RGSport: no masking, no fixing needed.

AutoTecknic Glazing Black Fender Trim Set - G05 X5 | F95 X5M (P/N: BM-0024) - $200USD

Love this design but I wish it came in the satin aluminum or cerium gray.

I'm one of the few who doesn't want to shadowline his X5.

I think it looks great on light colored vehicles but with black, the satin accents add a very nice contrast IMHO.

Now if this were for my M5..totally different aesthetic there

No, why would you think that? And no it doesn't have the logo when it arrives in the mail.

Ben and RG Sport is a very reputable original and aftermarket parts sales group. They're well known, have contributed in and assisted forum members in mods for many years.

I lease and don't feel the need to cosmetically mod my vehicles but if I did wouldn't hesitate to contact Ben at RG Sport.

eBay would not be my first choice or recommendation.

No, it doesn't come with the logo.
It comes as clean as what I have on my G05.

A satin aluminum would be great! In a bit of a different boat since mine's an X Line so it all started out with a lot more satin. Doesn't make sense to make the vents only black. And if I made everything else black too... I might has well have gone with M Sport.

Summary: a larger satin side vent would be great for X Line owners!

Same boat actually!

I went into the process fully ready for the M Sport trim but I realized I didn't want sport styling for this one which was already turning me away from the M Sport.

Plus I knew I wanted black paint and when I looked at the M Sport in black vs the xLine, the xLine just looked better because of the contrast of the satin aluminum and the glossy deep black.

So in the end, it was the xLine for me.

Some days when I need to feel the oomph, I'll pull out the 5er but even the X5 is no slouch and I don't find myself missing the high performance all that often

Added some after market vents today. They came with the X5///M badge, and although I have an M50d I didn't want the M badges on the vents.

As I suspected they were adhesive badges and came off easily with no residue or marks.

Really pleased with how they look alongside the mudflaps.

The mud flaps are from Amazon UK - link below

https://www.amazon.co.uk/2019-2020-S...8737578&sr=8-4

I think they are the same ones you can get on that well-known overseas online shop run by Ali.

They fitted really well but a couple of observations....

1. Before you try and fit them soak them in hot water. This makes the plastic more pliable so you can get the holes to line up, which they do.

2. They use existing mounting bolts/screws.

3. With the ones I got they included additional fixings which means you have to drill the inner wheel arch. But you are only drilling the plastic inner, not any metallic parts. I also used nuts and bolts with penny washers just to spread the load on the plastic.

4. Taking the wheels off makes the fitting a whole lot easier.

All in all I'm impressed by them. Remains to be seen if they last the distance.

Hope that helps.
