G05 X5 45e US Hybrid Battery to EU Spec

Does anyone know the E-Sys codes required to increase the Hybrid Battery state of charge limitations for US vehicles to match the EU spec? We have the same 24kwh battery but are limited to 17kwh while EU spec allows for 21kwh. There are people that code this for a fee but I cannot find the code to do this myself.

Do so at your own risk. Modifying could potentially cause issues on your battery warranty.

the only way I've seen this can be done is through Mission Tuning for a price, and I doubt they'll release the coding that accomplishes it

I've seen this and really want to avoid paying someone $500 for coding that could likely be done yourself. I'd pay $100 but anything above that seems excessive. Maybe there's a way to compare the code between the US and EU spec to find the deltas.

Please let us know if you find a solution that doesn't involve $500!!

Coding 4.5e US battery to European specs

I have a 22 4.5e that I had coded by Code My Bimmer just after I purchased it. I had a number things changed then. The recent i-drive software update removed all the coding that had been done so I scheduled a recoding session for last night. While he was going to recode all the items I had originally had done, he mentioned that they had a new feature available to code the battery to use the larger capacity that Europe enjoys (21.6 kWH vs 17.06). After charging last night the battery range is showing 42 miles, normally in the low 30's. My friend who had his coded at the same time is showing 49 miles this morning.
The company is wonderful to deal with. The initial coding is $100 for any or all of the items available, and $50 for any re-coding needed due to i-drive updates. Highly recomended:

Does "Enable Soft Closing of Automatic Trunk" really work for you?

Soft closing

That was not an option when I did the original coding and I had not noticed it, so I don't know.

OK, I sent this question to their support. Let’s see what they say. How did you get in touch with them to do remote coding? I don’t see any phone numbers listed on their website.

You can use the contact us tab. They are very responsive. Steve Ma will likely be the one that contacts you. Their customer service is outstanding. If you have cable and PC, he uses Team Viewer to connect. Typical session is 30 - 35 minutes, depending on how many things you want done.
Steve lives in Hong Kong, so he usually responds in the evening for us in the western US.

the $100 fee included modifying the HV battery usable capacity to 21.6kWh?! if so, all that coding for a great price whereas Mission charges $500 for the battery modification alone.

(steve, I hope you don’t see this message! lol)

There's this warning (both firefox & edge) when opening the English language section of their site; Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to codemybimmer.com.

After a few drives with coding to battery to European specs

I am now seeing typical 44 to 46 mile electric range after having the coding done to set it to European specs. Nice to have the extra range.

I wonder if it’s all the same coding for the 50E. I would like this also

Last I saw there were only a few ECUs that were able to be coded on iD8, not sure if that has changed or not.

From Steve Ma who did my coding:
Cars with ID8 have secure coding which requires real time authentication with BMW's servers so the answer would be no currently.
