Recover anti-dazzle after software update

Hello everyone,

I just finish the software update from 07/202 to 11/2022.60 for my 2023 G05 X5 40i. Previously I did anti-dazzle coding (remove 5AP, VO Code BDC/HU_NGU/KAFAS/Both FLMs and FDL-coding the 5 items in KAFAS4).

After the update, I can see that 5AP is still removed, but do I need to redo VO coding and the FDL coding?

When using ESYS, I cannot find KAFAS4 module anymore, is that because the Psdzdata is too old?

Thanks!

That’s why I’m avoiding updating… do you have a relink to the step by step? You’ll def need the newest psdzdata

Yes I can re-do it. I think my question is, since 5AP is still removed after the update, do I still need the VO-coding step? From my understanding, it is to install new VO list (without 5AP) to recspective modules (BDC, etc) and since 5AP is already missing, can this step be skipped?

For FDL coding of KAFAS4 part. Once I start the engine I can see it from ESYS but reading ECU generates error message FIle for"card_00040f9-013_005_023" not found[C012]" I guess this is related to psdzdata version?

If 5AP is still removed on your FA than you don't need to recode anti-dazzle. I haven't had to recode mine the past 2 or so software updates.

edit: Also you're getting those errors b/c you don't have the most recent PSdZData version. It's good practice to get the most up-to-date version every time the car software changes.

Good news.. I am about to apply the new patch and have also had anti-dazzle coded in.

I might be incorrect, but I believe full featured anti-dazzle would require a European build VO code not just removal of 5ap. You can also make small changes on the Kafas/light modules to get this effect. Unless you made this change you won’t be getting the full “anti-dazzle” on update.
