The 40i test car that I took over the weekend for a test drive.

I order a X5 G05, will be my first BMW, quite excited about it!

Edit: I just noticed the lighthouse in the second shot. That's Pigeon Point Lighthouse off Hwy 1 between Santa Cruz and San Francisco.

Took some pics. Finally done with all the mods.
- Tinted windows, roof and grille
- M-Performance side stickers
- M-Performance carbon diffuser
- Carbon fiber mirror caps

Looks good. I wonder how the board feels about decking out a car in "M" aesthetic mods to make the car look like an M performance car. It's akin to buying a 3 series and putting the M3 badge on it, I would think. Curious how others feel.

M Performance cosmetic mods? No issues here. TBH the M Performance mods look nothing like a ///M vehicle.

Except when M Sport owners decide to stick ///M badge next to the 40i engine designation then they're in #Mposer territory. Cause there no f'ing thing as a X5 M40i.

Don't get me wrong - and I didn't mean to call out that poster specifically - I was just curious what the general consensus is for making your car look like a M model car when it's not. Not his car specifically b/c I don't think he really did that, with the exception of the small M badge on the fender.

FYI, that small M badge on the fender is from the factory. European and non US cars have that as a standard part of the M Sport package. I like the way it looks and kinda wish the US cars had it too.

Actually the debadge is option for European models so this came from factory. Rear diffuser was installed by the dealer. Only for mirror caps went with ebay ones which were 5 times cheaper than dealer offer. Did the install myself, was little scary to get the mirror glass out to release the covers but went fine.

I think I'll skip the spacers. Only thing left to think about is if the exhaust tips should be black or not. Have not seen any pics with carbon diffuser and black exhaust tips. They looked good with default white diffuser but not sure if it's too much black with the carbon diffuser.

foodiewithacorgi I remember you thought about doing the exahust tips also black with tinted diffuser. Did you go forward with this idea?

Some Pics after washing it before the sun came up. I used a turtle wax spray and shine, I think the gloss is amazing and the paint is super slick. Says it can last up to 5mths. So let the testing begin!
