New X5 40i Msport owner
Spontaneously picked this thing up a few weeks ago and have been enjoying it quite a bit. Previously owned an F15 50i but this time opted for the 40i. Suits my needs perfectly and the mpg's are decent. Love everything about it except for the seats. For some reason just can't get quite comfortable in time. (6'4 230 lbs with a previous lower back surgery) Currently find myself shopping for one with the multi contour seats as silly as that might sound to some. But in the mean time here's a few photos of the current one.

I totally agree on the seats comments. It's so important. Had a 2018 Audi S5 Sportback which I loved to drive. But I could never get the seats in a position where my legs weren't in agony after a long drive. So she was traded in after a few months.

Looks great in white with the black trim. But yes, seat comfort is so important. I have the multi-contour and still need to get them tweaked so they are just right, but I think they are the way to go.

Any exterior modifications done to the x5? I ordered an alpine white and the only thing I might do is a black x5 logo on the trunk. Outside of that, I really like the look of it stock (with M package).

I'm still getting used to my seats too and your ride looks great! Your rear white out reflectors flow well the rear. I'm contemplating changing my x-drive50i emblem area with a M550i emblem. Only removing one of the number 5's from the M550i to read M50i. A i40 could use a M240i emblem removing the number 2 as a thought.

Nice ride! I was just cruising around in mine coming back from a business trip. Messed around with Adaptive mode. Got pretty good gas mileage too. Not as fun for me as sport and sport plus, but the 26+ mpg on this last trip was cool to see.

If I had to guess, looks Mineral based on the second picture, but I could be wrong. (my '16 M235i was mineral, my '16 M4 is Alpine).
And damn, lots of hate on someone putting an M-emblem on their car. Can't we all just be nice to each other |

That's a great alternative. Was it just down to the seats in the X5 or anything else? I'm looking second hand and I'm struggling to find anything with the multi-contour seats, just the standard m-sport ones. Lumbar and bolster adjustment really should be standard on such an expensive car.

Here are the standard sport seats. The left two stacked controls are: 1. Top control is 2-way side bolster 2. Bottom control, 4-way lumbar 3. What you are unable to see is the manual thigh adjustment in front.

Thanks - I think if they've got lumbar and bolster adjustment then they're the comfort seats (or so I've been told here in the uk) Trying to find thoughts on the ones without lumbar adjustment

Comfort seating will be 20 way and different design than the sport seats: 1. Adjustable side bolsters 2. 4-way lumbar 3. Electronic thigh adjustment 4. Seat height/angle 5. Backrest tilt 6. Upper backrest tilt 7. Electronic headrest heigh adjustment
