Does anybody else have this issue? I've noticed it doesn't work many times. Told my service guy and they're ordering an entire new steering wheel for me but I'm a little hesitant that it may be a software issue. Anybody else?

Mine is not. Have you rebooted the iDrive?

Doesn’t the idrive reset every time you turn the car in and off? Is there another way?

Press and hold the volume/power button for 20 seconds, then let go and press it until it comes on again.

You can tell if it reset because usually the volume gets changed to a default level.

Yes I experience this issue when scrolling through radio stations. It's very laggy and on rare occasions it will stop responding (that happened on a trip I took last weekend).

First thing dealer should do is upgrade your iStep level (software on car).

all my other bmws (5 at last count) had great scroll wheels. this one is definitely feels worse; but i can live with that. it literally doesn't work when i turn the wheel the vast majority of the time. also sometimes it seems like it sticks and doesn't move

You are 100 percent correct even the 2 2019 loners I had worked perfectly this new version in the x5 with the little spikes on it is terrible but my only complaint with the build so no big deal I learned how to fix it quick just scroll reel fast when first using it every time then it wakes up

Same problem on my UK 40i XDrive. Do we really need a new steering wheel? Anyone found another solution?
