I just coded my 40i with Veepeak and turned the auto start/stop off. Pretty simple process and appears to be working.

I am going to code my wife’s G01 X3 M40i tomorrow.

I am really hoping more coding features are released for the G05 soon.

Hey. For a novice how difficult is it? I am not very technical but the auto stop start is annoying me. Car has to be on with engine running when you do it right?

Super easy.

1. Download the app
2. Insert the OBD reader
3. Turn car on and push the engine start button 3 times (display will acknowledge diagnostic mode)
4. Open the app and connect to your OBD reader
5. Select the item you want to code and save the change
6. Shut off the car and then start the engine to confirm the change

It took 5 mins to code the auto stop/start. The only annoying thing now is the red indicator light by the auto stop/start button is permanently illuminated (even when the car is off).

When I last exchanged emails with Stephan, he said the app didn't support the new G05 and he had no idea when it would.

Having just read this thread, it looks like it already does support the car!

Am a bit confused - can someone put me right please?

I contact app developer and he says kiwi is not supported, cool, I order the veepeak from amazon. It arrives yesterday and now I read the kiwi is supported. I swear, developer must be in bed with these adapter folks lol.

The light goes off when the car goes to “sleep” after 15 mins. The same is true for the red parking brake light...if it is set it will stay on until the car goes to sleep. It’s normal.

Ahhh....that makes sense. My car wakes up every time I approach it, so that would explain why the red light is on by the time I look inside.

I believe the free app can't re-code anything - it just tells you what could be coded if you cough up the $26.

So in reality to code you need the adapter and the in-app purchase in BimmerCode.

Got it. In any case I just coded out the auto stop/start. Thank you.

There are quite a few things I am waiting for to be coded before I purchase... let’s hope we get them all sorted out. (ESPECIALLY the laser lights issue)

All those can be done with E-sys.

I am not familiar with E-sys. Is the similar to BimmerCode?

Only in the sense of expert mode. It has many more functions as well though.

Here are some pictures and videos: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...2&postcount=60

Completely new architecture than previous generation headlamps. It will take some time before it is determined how to code.
