Allocations Suspended due to Russia/Ukraine War
This is what my SA texted me when I asked for an update on my M50 production status. Has anyone else heard this or have info?

I know they paused production in Germany. But at Spartanburg here in the USA I am unaware of any delays. I just got an allocation week 14 scheduled for production yesterday (status 112). I don't believe Spartanburg gets their parts from Ukraine like the plants in west Germany. Did you get an allocation yet?

The Ukraine war is currently only affected BMW production on Europe. Your CA is just trying to keep you on the hook so you don't go elsewhere. April allocations have been issued.

I've just been in touch with my dealer (I'm in the UK) about the European plants stopping production because I though with me being in the UK my X5 would be built in Europe. He has told me that mine will be coming from the U.S and he's got a build date of the begining of May, my February date was cancelled.

X5 should be ok. From my understanding, M cars are "on hold" or "will take longer" because the wiring harnesses are from 3 (or 4) plants located in Ukraine.

If you're in DFW, who told you that, Classic BMW up in Plano? If so, I can tell you when I cancelled my order with them 2-3 weeks ago when I was able to get one from a different dealer, I was #12 and there was at least 20 after me.... They were only getting a few allocations a month, and he was telling me my order would probably look like May/June... so unless the situation improved, people in line already were looking at 6+ months... BMW of Dallas wasn't much different.

BMW of Dallas wasn't much different. I ended up cancelling and putting an order in from an out of state dealer and did the PCD. I'll be getting my 45e now before Classic was originally telling me they would even get me a Production #. The issue I think with Sewell is they don't take any deposit, so a lot of folks on those list more than likely have orders at multiple dealers and will go with whoever gets it first, which might artificially inflate the actual order numbers. |

Just because it's built in the US doesn't mean there won't be delays (on top of the existing delays). Parts are sourced from all over the world, including Germany and Eastern Europe.
