As I type this I'm getting the Pure800 installed, DEM Unlocked, and JB4 to BM3 with a custom dyno tune. So I will have a JB4 for sale hopefully next week.
Interested in this. DanielKnick81@gmail.com

On the rollers with JB4.
FTP chargepipes.
Armaspeed intake.
MP exhaust.
2 port WMI.
Making nice power on custome tune once the IATs drops below 40degC on hot GMT+8 days like now.

noticeable difference- low end power is much better, but nothing crazy. the acceleration on this truck is quite numb tbh. coming from an f90 so my foot is still adapting to the new normal.

i've gone up to e30 on map 3, pulling strong. planning on testing some absolute maps this week with e30/e40.
Is anything else done to your x5 or just chip? just bought an x5 and the chip, looking to see if anything else needs to be done to it.

Not required but beneficial if you do. The JB4 monitors sensor feedback realtime via OBD so if things get unsafe with knock or fuel mixture, the JB4 reverts back to stock settings so as not to cause damage. It's a great feature.

It's not a kick in the back so to speak but I feel like it has livened up the engine. The auto shop that installed it recommended I dont use map 3 unless I add in octane booster.

You can see cables on the passenger side (Left) as the unit is tucked under the grill below the windscreen.
Where did they run the obd cable ?

Sorry just noticed this. Map 1 is the safest and can be run on 91. Map 2 is still safe but you need 93 which isn't available in all areas ... or you can add a few gallons of e85 to 91 to get the octane up.

BTW - Those are AKI (US numbers) not RON (Europe) octane numbers.

You can run the cable up by the hood cowl and tuck it between the fender and door, then feed it along the rubber trim down to the OBD port by the trunk release area if you don't want to fish it through the firewall and under the dash. That's what a lot of people do.

Google that one. There is a wealth of info out there concerning the JB4, Racechip, and other piggy back tuners.
You will be better able to understand this stuff after some reading about how these devices actually work as well as what they can or cannot do.

It's a piggyback that increases boost and makes significant power.

Its also got a lot more features but its impossible to explain it all in one post.
