Need Advice: Put deposit on 2020 BMW X5MC

Hi all - I've used this BMW website in the past for my other BMWs and know how helpful the advice is here. Our 2012 BMW X5 50i needs to be replaced. It has 117K miles and we started to have a VANOS timing issue that gives the check engine light. Plus it continues to burn oil.

I've been eyeing a BMW X5 M50i, X7 M50i and X5M. Today I put a deposit down on a 2020 BMW X5M Competition with ~35k miles for a really good price. This car will be used primarily by my wife who takes the kids everywhere and by me on the weekends and in longer road trips on highway.

My wife didn't test drive the car (even though I asked her to) and is concerned that maybe the ride will be too stiff vs. an M50i. I found it acceptably comfortable and liked that it was more responsive with better handling. Will it be uncomfortable taking the car on a road trip or will the kids get sick from a bumpier ride (I assume less body roll is a good thing).

I also will have to put winter tires on since I'm in the Midwest. With winter tires I think it would be a softer ride than the current Michelin PSS 4S tires when the temperature is starting to drop.

All in all, I liked that I was taking a $122K MSRP car and getting it for $73K vs. an M50I that is ~$90K and getting it for ~$68K.

It would also be helpful to know if there are any major known issues to be on a watch out for (vs. M50i). I don't want the headaches I had with the 2012 X5 50i N63

Thoughts?
