BMW X5 50e availability of Xline in UK

Hi everyone,

I’m in the market for a new 50e (currently have the 45e). I would like the Xline in Ridge Blue but when I go to build the car on the official uk site it won’t let me. It’ll let me build an MSport in 50e but not the xline. I prefer the look of the Xline and it is cheaper too. Does anyone know whether the xline 50e will become available in the UK? Thanks in advance.

Bump…anyone know if/when the 50e will become available in Xline trim in the UK please? Or will it only ever be available in MSport? Thanks.

I guess no one wants to buy the X5 50e in xline in the UK then. Perhaps I’m the only one who thinks the Xline trim looks better than the MSport.

I think the xLine in its own way looks just as good as the M Sport. Don’t understand why there’s so much focus on M Sport, in the UK in particular. And now with the LCI the styling of the M Sport seems to me a bit problematic, with the large black bumper merging with the grille, with no body painted part between, so that IMO with a black grille there’s too large an area of black on the front, yet a bright/chrome grille looks a little odd right on top of the black bumper. Unless perhaps the body colour is black or carbon black so that the bumper then recedes into that. And also with the M Sport one tends to be led into getting the M Sport Pro, with still more cosmetic additions at even greater expense. Something to be said therefore for the xLine (or Sport/Classic as it is known in US or Serie in Germany) and would be good if the 50e engine could be made available in that model in the UK, as it appears to be everywhere else.

Just an FYI - it’s not called xLine anymore. For the LCI it’s either Sport or M Sport.

100% agree and BMW won’t be getting my money until the 50e is available in xLine. Everyone to their own and I prefer the xLine so I’m not paying several thousand pounds more for MSport just because BMW decided that the UK won’t be given the same choice as others. I was only wondering what the rough timeline might be but tbh if it’s just a game by BMW of ‘let’s bleed the UK dry first by forcing the more expensive version onto early adopters’ then I’ve got other manufacturers/cars I’m also considering. Shame really as I love the X5 but I can’t stand the thought of someone sitting in a meeting room effectively authorising a decision to screw over the UK customers. I doubt it would be that difficult to offer the 50e in xLine to UK customers just as they are for others.
