Hi there,

Based on your observation how long in average does it take for custom order to be delivered to the dealership after production is completed?

I’m on the West Coast and my CA says it takes in average 2-3 months… is that really takes so long or in reality the process is faster?

Times vary based on location etc.

For me it took 5 days to go from "Assembly Begins" (status 151) on May 3 to "At dealership" (status 198) on May 8 (today). My car was "stuck" in Waiting carrier assignment for 3 days otherwise it flew through the steps once the production actually started.

Welcome to the forum. It depends on your location and whether or not the dealer has an allocation. In general, allocations are given out around the beginning of the month for the next months builds. That means if you got your order in with an allocation at the beginning of May the vehicle would be built sometime in June. We have been seeing delivery times once the vehicle has been completed of about 3 - 4 weeks to the West Coast. Depending on when it is built I would say 2 - 3 months is a good average.

My order estimated production week is 21 (May 21-28) if no delays. And CA assumes it will be at the dealership in Seattle somewhere around end of July / beginning of August.

So looks like it can be a fair estimate, just was surprised it takes so long… especially seeing that sometimes it takes 1-2 week (or less) for some people after production is completed.

There must be some misunderstanding. If your production is indeed for week 21, it will be at the dealership by end of June, first week of July if it's late (of course, without any catastrophic delays).

That is a promising I called the Genius line earlier today and they confirmed estimated week 21. Waiting yet for 150 status, but so far it’s on track

I have a M60i build for week 21 as well. We should go to 150 by end of this week.

We ordered in Feb. Production was week 15 (April 14th) it arrived at the dealer in Boulder, CO on April 21st. Picked up April 22. 24 X6 M60i.

I ordered a 50e end of Feb. was built 4-13, shipped 4-14, and I'm still waiting for it to get to Renton. for the last 3 weeks it has said "in transit" and using the F12 process it was showing code 195. According to my CA and the BMW Genius the estimated arrival in Renton was 5-6. As a matter of fact on Friday 5-5 our CA said he still doesn't "show it in Renton yet" but was confident it would be there and scheduled a delivery pickup next Saturday 5-13 at 11am.
I called the Genius line earlier today to see what they would tell me and the guy was a bit weird, couldn't quite put my finger on it but hung up thinking something smells fishy. I just checked the F12 process again a few minutes ago and now it says the car is at the port and is back to code 193?? So, I don't know what that means, hopefully, it means that the car is in the train rail yard in Renton (ie the port) and it will go back to code 195 "in transit" when it gets loaded on a truck carrier headed to the dealership about 10 miles away.

TurtleBoy, is this normal? I thought once it got to the rail yard it would go to code 196?

You should be good, that means it arrived at the rail yard. I think people have been seeing them within a week of that happening depending on location, carrier etc.

I ordered an X6 M60i in an individual color in February and it hasn't moved from "order received" status. BMW's best guess is September delivery.

What is your production week? Your CA or a call to Genius will get you that and your delivery should be a few days later. I think the latest batch we have seen for early order Individual is Week 33.

In normal times, it would arrive at your dealer a day or two after being dispatched which usually occurs a day after it is completed. The trucking situation appears to be getting worse though so it may take a few extra days and your September estimate may hold.

This is weird that they tell you week 31-33. They should have production week, not range. Do you have order number? Is it in status 112?
My order (Individual color X5 M60i) placed on June 1 shows week 30 according my CA. It went to status 112 within 2 days after order was placed.

Wow, this is really messed up. It's not like you are ordering custom Bugatti. Something is not right......
