"red light camera" route warning is doing its own thing...

So I always had my "route warnings" set to my HUD since its in my line of vision.

Well today, the red light camera warning showed up in my instrument cluser...I thought that's weird. Changed it back to HUD.

Get out of car, run errands, and its back in the instrument cluster.

"Hmm, weird again" I thought. I reset idrive move it to hud and continue my day.

Get out of car, run another errand and its freaking BACK to the instrument cluster. It simply wont "stick" to hud. I will stay on HUD until I turn the car off.

Anyone know why? Not using the nav while this is happening.

Mix of App, ConnectedDrive, iDrive issue when "Route Warnings" disappear as an option in Display. Happens to everyone and inconsistent when it does. I can go weeks without issue then one day it's down in the cluster - reset iDrive and maybe Route Warning shows up and able to move it back to the HUD.

I've been meaning to see if ConnectedDrive drive is pushing micro app updates.

In the 5-6 months I've had this option functioning in my car, I've only had a single occasion when the icon showed up in HUD. I have changed route warnings from Instrument cluster to HUD every time -- the icon always shows up still in in the Instrument cluster. The icon itself is clunky, a white rectangular background with a camera in the center, rather than the smaller no background icon you see in videos

BTW, the data base this feature uses, despite press releases to the contrary, is TERRIBLE -- I've approached intersections that I know have active, displaying the little blue light even and I get no warning

The data supporting the warning is botched too. It keeps warning me of a red light camera when I am on I-90, a 4 lane divided highway.

Seems like its a known bug ok.

As for how it works, its perfect in NY. Tells me every red light cam and SPEED camera. It has for sure already saved me some cash from those 25 mph cameras that auto trigger if you're going 31+

Im willing to bet there was an hidden auto update to this red light app and it messed someone up in the code.

It began to work fine now...it stays in the HUD.

I did nothing differently...it just decided to work as intended...for now.

yes mine seems to be staying in HUD now as well. I thought it was because I updated apps. guess not. weird.

Mine only lasted a couple days in the HUD. Now it's back to the instrument Cluster.

Yep. BMW just can't get their act together on the technology side. Every single time they have an update they break something.
