the latest on my brick with wheels - the dealer did the entire reload of SW to the car, no joy. To replace the CAS or any other module, they've been to told to get auth from a BMW Field Rep who is coming tomorrow to look at the car and see if he can recommend a solution. This is now seriously frustrating that they don't even know what's wrong.
I was trying to ask the service guy on the phone - what is different in the path for the key card (other than just the wireless charger), and the key fob when it comes to starting the car? There's gotta be a different path because the key card works and both the fobs do not. Seems it's the CAS or some aerial ring... don't know.

Still no success - the dealer said they didn't do the mainframe update like they told me, they only did a local SW install that didn't work. the BMW rep said to order a BDC and that should work. Except that takes 2 weeks minimum to get from Germany. WTF ? In the meantime they said tonight they're doing the mainframe update

Hmmm?? Makes me think I'm glad that my car which was built in 11/2020 and still has S/W 11/2020.36 is fine as it is.
Though I do kind of wish the navigation map at least received an update from this year. Lat one was 2020-4 for CA, HI and NV.

The general map update is manual. And the car won't prompt you an update is available.
It is done with the download manager on a Mac or pc and is written on a USB stick and into the car.

This is not correct for the US, it is all automatic/OTA over here.

I did this exact process for my father-in-law's Acura.

for my G05, i stepped into it one day and a notification for the completed automatic map update showed on my control display a couple weeks after I took ownership in December '20.

Thx, didn't know that.

Shame they can't do that in Europe. Maybe our street are to difficult.

As far as I understand, it should also work in Europe, but only for a particular "home" region, which gets set somewhere in the options. Like Northern Europe, Central Europe etc. I remember setting mine but can't look it up quickly right now as to where and how I've set it up.

The US map updates do not include the entire area of the basemap...Personally, I'd prefer it to update the whole shebang, but to get something other than your local region, you have to physically drive there, and be in it for some time for it to get triggered...sort of messes up the ability to search for an address if it isn't there for hours or days after you drive near if it's across the boundary.

I wouldn't mind downloading the files and copying them rather than having to wait for them OTA.

Sounds to me like they've just updated ista and tried it again! They probably had a version equal or lower than what was on your vehicle the first time

The 2021-07 ilevel is out now, so it's probably been flashed with that and that's fixed the issue

07/2021

Hello,
I have 07.2021.20 on the car and I coded the MSport display with bimmercode, as well as other small changes. I don't know if it's from coding, but I don't really see the connection, or from elsewhere, but I don't know how to get rid of the instantaneous mileage in English miles, in addition to the normal one in kilometers. I mention that the units of measurement are set in kilometers, degrees celsius, etc. I also attach a picture. Does anyone have any ideas?

In US models, there's a setting in iDrive to show the additional converted speed in km/h. check to see if that setting is enabled where the inverse occurs. (or I could be mistaken and that is just part of the layout you coded…) have you cycled through the BC button?

Thank you, it works.

Is anyone starting to be driven a little mad by 3/21 causing the vehicle to randomly drop from Sport to Comfort? It is getting annoying.

If you're referring to air suspension, isn't that 'rising up', not dropping? I've been on 03/2021 about 3 months on my '21 45e and it doesn't do this.

You need to be a bit more explicit on what and when you are seeing this.

I think, unless you've coded the vehicle, it defaults to comfort on startup. I don't remember if it is a 'sticky' to stay in sport.

Sorry - not drop as in suspension related, 'drop' as in it's changing driving modes.

I.e., yesterday, driving in Sport+. I came to a full stop. Notice ASS kicked in. Looked at gauges - I was back in comfort. Happens enough that I say "why the fuck does this keep happening". I am definitely NOT changing driving modes, the vehicle is doing it randomly for some reason. Zero coding has been done to the vehicle. My 2020 X5 did not do this.
