I have ID7 (2021 40i), what version should I be on? I checked from the car and on my app, and I don't see any upgrade available. I am on 03/2023.50.

Got the upgrade done at the dealer to 11/2023.42 went fine.
Question- one of the features BMW advertises to the update is drive recorder is now available in the My BMW app. Not in my app. Removed & reinstalled- nothing.
Has anyone got this to work? I am on Idrive 7, don’t know if that makes a difference- if it’s supposed to be a app feature, not sure why it would not be visible in any case.

I don't think any OTA's have been pushed to iD7 since the 03/2023 one so you are current in that sense.

Not available for iD7 from what we have seen. Keep in mind that the release notes in regards ot new features for for 8.5. Any updates for iD7 will just be bug fixes and adjustments.

I received 07/2023.53 about 6 months ago. Is it not newer than 03/2023?

The plot gets thicker, dealer has updated idrive 7 to 11/2023/50 that is showing in car but app still says no updates available and is showing 03/2023/67. Called customer services and have carried out hard drive reset in car but app still incorrect. They said to give it 24 hours but believe it won't work and that is the reason I am not getting over the air updates. New car arrives in 4 weeks so trying to sort out for new owner.

Update, App has updated to show 11/2023/50 in car but when you click below to show updates it gives updates of 07/23.

That is quite common, it can take awhile for the version to update from the servers.

Please uninstall and re-install the application. That should fix it

Is there any chance this would fix the low speed lag the 50e sees when shifting from EV to ICE or is that going to have to be something separate from the iDrive updates?

If it is something that they are going to address by software it should be able to be done in an iDrive update.

I’m in SF Bay Area, still waiting for 11/2023 update for 24 X6 40i. I see people from PA, FL already received it, guess BMW is going east to west with the release.

I’ve been having issues where the gauge cluster goes blank 6/10 times I start the car, hopefully the update fixes it.

It goes by some unknown algorithm that no one, likely even within BMW, has been able to figure out.

The remote software update changes the entire vehicle software configuration in the car, so this could be a update to many control units (ECUs) including the headunit that runs the iDrive software.

Certainly if they wanted to, they could push an update OTA that could address the issue you describe.

My personal feeling is, sadly its probably the best it will be.

To me its being optimized for "normal" driving rather than sporty driving. If you floor it it tends to be rather laggy and jerky.
