I have a dealer that have me 5% plus $2k military (my dad was in Vietnam, the criteria isn’t strict) and no broker fee. They are in MD (I am in Ohio) they can arrange transportation

Wait a minute…we don’t have to have actually been former military to qualify!? Just an immediate family member has to have been in the military to qualify for the discount? I’ve gotta get on this…

You basically just have to pass the verification process, if you pass, you get the discount! It’s via ID Me.

If an immediate family member served and you have or can obtain a copy of his/her form DD214 (discharge) you’ll qualify. You can get the DD214 from the national archives. Request it online.

I had no idea until today. Lol.

Verified via the ID.Me process and got the offer code. Sent it to my CA and awaiting confirmation that they’ll be taking the additional $2k off.

If you finance with BMWFS it’s only $500. Just as an fyi. External financing it’s $2k.

There are various ways to qualify for it:

• Active Duty
• National Guard
• Reserves
• Veterans
• Military Retirees
• Military Spouses
• Surviving Spouses
• Immediate Military Family Members
• All USAA and NavyFed members with at least 60 days of membership
• One incentive per member per year

It is easiest to go to TrueCar's (or NavyFed's) military page and verify your eligibility and print out the certificate.

My dad just gave me his father's discharge papers from 1917, where he got a $60 stipend for surviving the war. Will that work?

Probably. Go to the TrueCar site and complete the online form. You'll need to attach the document in the space provided. Form DD214 was not put into use until 1950.

Is this a new X5 M? If so my opinion is no, not enuf. I was offered 12% off a new M50i in July and 18% in August. I passed and ordered a M60i. I’d give them an offer at 15–16% and make them think you’ll walk. My philosophy is be nice but also be more of an asshole than the dealer is.
