Same thing here, E85 is available but a 25 minute ride each way, PIA.
BTW, did Burger give you any idea when we will have an update that will allow us to connect the EWG plugs and move to that level?

No update in regards to EWG, Terry said they'll look into it at a later date

Sounds like that might be a while. Did you get your down pipes installed?

I reached out to burger tuning to see if there are any tweeks that need to be done and if I am able to run map 3 and 5

Not yet, running out of patience but should be next week.

Looking forward to getting my JB4 installed, should order it soon and will get it onboard after there about 1500 miles on the clock.
I'll be very interested to hear how the down pipes work out.

So the values in the ign 1 table are the degrees of spark advance? Seems to be all over the place in those other logs.

The arrow on the left shows the timing drop on Map 2. The right arrow shows the timing increasing advance through the RPM range on Map 0 (stock) as one would expect. If Tim runs some MS109 or Ethanol, we can see if that is too much boost for the supporting mods. My guess is his downpipes might very well fix it.

One should expect to see a smooth increase in timing through the RPM range if the DME is happy.

^^^^^I see exactly what you are pointing out. The obvious question is why. Thank you very much for the help with reading and understanding the data.

Timing pulls from the DME occur because it detects knock and this is a safety reaction. Beyond the safety, timing drops equal horsepower drops. Generally knock will occur if IAT get too hot or back pressure causes high combustion temps. I am pretty sure he can log IAT off the JB4. That said, I am willing to bet the stock downpipes are a big, big contributor. If he logs after he installs the pipes, we can safely assume that was a big part of the problem.

Either way, we can 100% tell if that timing drop was knock by increasing the octane with a few gallons of MS109 or running a few gallons of ethanol. The higher octane is more resistant to knock, so we would be sure. My guess is that 22 psi is too much with an otherwise stock vehicle. You may need downpipes to run that much boost.

I follow that, makes good sense. The HP tuners software that I used on a C6 Corvette had something in the log that measured or counted the signals from the knock sensors if I remember correctly. I wonder if some SUNOCO 94 would be worth a try.

BMW's DME does have a value called KR or Knock Retard. It has been shown over the years to be somewhat unreliable, so most focus on the timing drops.
