Winter wheel unboxing - ART REPLICA 181 - Added install pics

Bought some new wheels and thought I would post the pics. I bought four of the same size because I wanted a square 20" setup for the winter versus the staggered 22"s I currently have.

Here is the link as well for the item I actually purchased; ART REPLICA 181 GLOSS BLACK 20X9 +35 5X112MM 66.6MM

I'm planning to add Nokian WG G4 SUV tires 275/45R20 in the near future.

They are "All-Weather", not "All-Season" so they have the winter logo which qualifies them for insurance discounts but also allows me to use them for more than just the winter.

Thanks for sharing. I was also checking this set today. Is the shipping free? Are you considering OEM TPMS with these?

I am considering BRIDGESTONE BLIZZAK DM-V2 275/45R20XL, non-RFT.

Would you please share some pictures when you install these?

Definitely, but it may be a couple of weeks, since I'm waiting for TPMS sensors. I decided to get BMW sensors but not from BMW.

The link I provided for the wheels is Canadian in Dorval. They had the best price and they provided free shipping. I was expecting to wait a week or two to get them, but I ordered them on a Monday and they arrived on the Wednesday, even before they sent me an email to confirm that they were shipped. Because these are replicas they should mount perfectly with the bolts from your current setup so I did not buy the accessory bolt kit that they recommend.

I'm also looking for a set of TPMS. What did you go with and where did you get them? I'm in Canada too.

Fuzzy Master Are you still waiting for the TPMS sensor?

By the way, how is the paint quality on the wheels?

Yes. Probably a couple more weeks.

Paint quality looks great, pictures are pretty accurate to the real thing, but I have no way of knowing how well they will do over time. They are winter rated and warrantied so should be good.

At the price I paid, I can buy four full sets compared to the price for BMW OEM wheels, so I figure they're definitely worth it for winter use. I am not expecting BMW quality, although BMW doesn't really make their own wheels anyways.

Hi! Was wondering if you installed them already and if you have M sport brakes? If so, how do they fit? I was looking for the exact same wheels for my winter set.

I have a 2020 X5 M50i which comes with M-sport brakes. I'm waiting for TPMS sensors and then will have them installed with Nokian WR G4 275/45-R20 tires.

Likely in the next week or so....

M50i is fun to drive, but I still haven't completed break-in yet so should be way more fun next spring, once its broken in and I put the 22s back on.

In the mean time, I received my Schrader OEM TPMS sensors, pre-programmed for G05, so went in for tire install, balancing and mounting on the car. In the future I'll be doing the swap myself every winter.

Resetting the tire size and TPMS in iDrive was very simple, and the process was complete by the time I got home which was about 5 kms.

There was no issue whatsoever with M-Sport brake caliper clearance.

One thing I didn't realize up front is that these rims came with 67mm centre caps, while the 742M 22" rims come with 56mm caps. so I ended up using the black caps that came with the replicas. I kind of like the black caps so I may just leave them that way.

For those that have been waiting, here are the pictures;

Very helpful Fuzzy Master, thank you. A few more questions:

1. Where did you buy these Schrader TPMS sensors?

2. The aluminum clamp-in stamp came with it?

3. BMW uses Schrader TPMS sensors?

4. Who programmed the sensors? Installer?

5. Do you have air or adaptive suspension?

I thought all the OEM 20/21/22 inch wheels comes with hub bore size 66.6mm? Since this is a replica I was assuming it'll have the same bore diameter! Here is my wheel notes:

Bolt pattern: 5x112
Shank diameter: M14
Cone seat: 60 degrees
Hub Bore: 66.6mm
* ET means Offset of the wheel/rim

Square 20"
9JX20 275/45/R20 ET35

Factory 21"
Front: 9.5JX21 275/40/R21 ET37
Rear: 10.5JX21 315/35/R21 ET43

Factory 22"
Front: 9.5JX22 275/35/R22 ET37
Rear: 10.5JX22 315/30/R22 ET43

I was also checking out this Schrader video:

See my answers below each question:

1. Where did you buy these Schrader TPMS sensors?
- U.S.eBay, look for seller that lists all costs up front (customs, duty, taxes, etc) - PM sent
- r33_RGSport can ship to Canada as well but you have to pay all fees when you receive delivery

2. The aluminum clamp-in stamp came with it?
- yes - see attached pics for specs of the exact item I received

3. BMW uses Schrader TPMS sensors?
- thats what was in my 742M 22" wheels, but you can use several brands as long as they are G05 compatible

4. Who programmed the sensors? Installer?
- no, installer couldn't cause car was too new & their clone device was too old, so went with pre-programmed, made everything much simpler

5. Do you have air or adaptive suspension?
- M adaptive

I thought all the OEM 20/21/22 inch wheels comes with hub bore size 66.6mm? Since this is a replica I was assuming it'll have the same bore diameter!
- the hub bore for G05 is 66.6mm
- BMW uses hub-centric wheels, that doesn't mean the caps are the same size

- I would suggest you measure your caps to be sure
- I measured mine as 57mm but the official BMW size seems to be 56mm

I've never seen the ones in the video, they seem to be universal, but need to be programmed. BMW uses 433 MHz for the G05 so I preferred to get a sensor that was an exact match rather than a universal design. Mine had 433 stamped in a star shape on the back, but I didn't take a pic of that.

@Fuzzy Master - looks great. Thanks for the write up.
I just picked up a 2021 M50i in Arctic Grey with the 22" double spoke LT Alloys (Style 742M) Black shod with Continental tires (staggered)
Need to put on winters quickly and looking at a square setup on 20"

Do you happen to know if the Arktik wheels are TUV/JWL certified and carry the correct load rating for this vehicle (M50i)?
Could not find anything on their website.

Been looking at BBS SX 0603 or SX0604 which are certified and carry the correct load rating

I don't know about TUV/JWL certification. You should contact the website or the manufacturer for confirmation.

Hi Roopster, I am not too sure about only JWL stamp.

JWL is the testing standard. It dictates the testing loads based on the wheel diameter and bolt pattern.

VIA is not a test. It is a testing council organization. They test to the JWL standard. To have the only JWL stamp means a wheel was self tested by the manufacturers with approved equipments (can be easily cheated). To have the VIA stamp/certification means a wheel was officially tested independently by the VIA council in Japan following the JWL testing method.

A Wheel that passes JWL does not make it VIA certified, even if it's stamped onto the wheel (which many companies do).

Thanks - did contact them. No more stock on the 181.
They do have the 233 in stock.
Load rated at 900Kg (1984 lbs).
My understanding for the X5 M50i is as follows:
Minimum load rating of 690kg for the front axle and 935kg for the rear axle.
Curb weight is 2386 Kg
Gross weight is 2975 Kg
Another thread in this forum has members reporting that HRE and BBS have stated their 20 inch wheels are not rated for this SUV
Was advised to look at the Braelin brand
The search continues....

New wheels look great! Have you thought about adding BMW OEM RIM M BADGE STICKERS (36-11-2-228-660)? Looks like your wheels already have the spot for them.

Yah, I've seen those and you're right there is a place for them on the rims, but since I decided to stick with the black centre caps, I thought I'd just leave the whole wheel black for the winter. I added black air valve caps as well.

Was also thinking that I might put them on with BMW centre caps in the spring, but haven't decided yet.

I bought Braelin wheels for my winter set-ups, they look awesome. Didn't install them yet as my car will only arrive in Jan.
