Car turns off when I walk away
Someone help me figure out how to turn off this option if it's possible. When I leave the vehicle running and walk away it turns off, I'm went through the vehicle settings and turned off most of the options but it's still doing it, any ideas ?

I think that even in sport mode, when totally stopped, the engine can turn off just like in the ICE without the hybrid. AT least that's what seemed to happen when I tried it for a short while.
Just so we're talking about the same thing...the engine being off does not mean the vehicle is 'off'. From my limited experience, it will pretty much go into park when you open the driver's door with your seatbelt off. There's an iDrive setting to then lock the vehicle once you get out of range with the remote if you select it. When the vehicle is locked, most everything goes into sleep mode except the alarm. |

I was reading this post and a recent YT scam video came to mind. This video speaks to someone taking your car while its running and your door is open. It was supposed to start at the 3:20 mark but if it doesn't, just skip to that point and start watching where it talks about the plastic bottom someone puts between your tire and wheel well.

There's actually an option to do that when no occupants are detected in the car... im struggling to remember which menu it was under but have a play with it and you'll find it.

That would be great, cause my alarm keeps going off when i leave my kids in the car when i get some bread or something. I will play around in the settings. If somebody finds it before I do, please do not hesitate

Actually, I'm relatively happy: I stop in the darkness to open a gate, put the car on Park, open the door with seatbelt off - and the headlights stay on! Good enough for me, at least for now. ;-)

I had "follow-me-home" lights in 1999 and never used them.. but on the other hand, the car didn't turn off automatically back then :-)
