Sorry I know this is slightly off-topic, as it regards model change year for the X6.

Does anybody know if Riverside Blue Metallic has been dropped for X6? I've ordered a Riverside Blue X6, scheduled late June/early July build, and delivery early September by the time it arrives to the UK.

Reason I ask is that BMW UK configurator no longer shows Riverside Blue Metallic as on option, instead in favour of the Phytonic Blue. I have wondered if this is just an error with the UK configurator, but have looked at other European countries (Germany, Belgium, France), and all show the same situation - no Riverside Blue option now available.

I'm now really concerned that my build is going to be cancelled. Dealer is closed because of COVID, and there is no option to track your build status in the UK.

This would be my third BMW, and there has been a problem between order and delivery with the previous two (i.e. 1 year for a 4 Series to arrive, hence my concern!)

Hoping someone can maybe shed light on the situation.

Thanks in advance!

Wow this is the first I heard of BMW cancelling the ED program. Shocked. It can't cost them that much, the Welt is still there handling
deliveries for customers through Europe. Picking up my 650i M Edition coupe in 2014 was one of my most memorable experiences. Sure X vehicles have eclipsed sedans & coupes, but plenty of US customers still buy them. Combined with Performance center delivery it is a fantastic journey that now cannot be had. And the ED discount was excellent. Hope they bring it back someday.

Thanks I did see that once I heard about it. Guess that leaves Benz & Porsche as the only ones left. But I know Porsche give zero discount for their ED. Who knows maybe BMW will bring it back someday.

Do you know if 3rd row option will be available for M50i?

You mean to cars that don't have remote start?

It's a lot more involved than that.
More than just some software changes and programming?

The 2021 Order Guide on the 7 series forum includes many other models. Looks like Acoustic Glass, Off-Road Package and Luggage Compartment Package are gone as well.

That is strange. Couldn't it be that they have made some standard. Like luggage compartment and acoustic glass. Like the DAB tuner is included too.

I saw some changes specific for the 45e in the ordering guide.

They wil install a sound when turning the car on and off. I don't have any issues with that now but with my 40e I remember in the beginning sometimes I forgot the car was stil running

Preconditioning will also make it possible to activate seat ventilation. And activating seat, steering wheel, mirror and camera heating.

Probably a (OTA) software update will make this possible.

When reading the 2021 US included option list you have a lot of options included standard that we have to pay for in Europe:

Comfort acces
Moonroof
Alarm
Privacy glass
Garage door opener
Active safety
Active blindspot detection

It's a shame they put some options only in package and don't let you chose single options.

For example can you order non ventilated merino seats? They have softer non perforated leather

And like mentioned no acoustic windows, no H&k and also no 22 inch wheels on the 40i?

Strange. Probably commercially inspired because we can still order our European X5 from the same US factory. Maybe trying to sell more V8's and trying to empty a stock? They are practically not sellable in Europe because of our taxes

I don't understand the logic behind them locking the audio system into the highest engine configuration. I'm pretty sure the upgrade "upgrade" audio system was always available across all trims. It makes them money and is a good option for people who are happy with the smaller engine but really want good sound and all of the other amenities. Makes no sense to me to have to spend that much extra just to have the option to get good sound. Maybe the B&W option just isnt selling well on the lower trims? imo, they should make the B&W system as standard equipment.
My guess is it's harder to sell a lightly optioned 40i with BW post lease

No more Ametrin and Tanzanite on the 40i, no more leather dashboard or alcantara headliner on the 40i and no more Full Merino. I sure hope this is all due to COVID-19 and more options come back later in the year or next year.

Glad I ordered Integral Active Steering (not available for 2021) and Luxury Seating Package (2020 - $1600) when I did.

With 4T7 front massage seats as a separate option for 2021, order ZLS (2021 - $1000) + 4T7 ($1000) = $400 price increase.

Bummer with leather dashboard only available on M50i for 2021.

If this was the case it would have been the same for European orders, they come from the same factory. And we can still order all options for all engines (ok some executions for the 45e because if the battery). But we just have to wait 6-12 months before we can drive it.

He and this thread is referencing only USA market 2021 changes. Perhaps the title of this thread should note USA market changes only, create less confusion and more contextual discussions.

But great to know there are no to limited changes for EU markets.

Yes I know. I think the US made this decision on a commercial base. If there was any covid 19 related reason for not offering all options on the 40i and 45e it would have been the same for European orders coming from the same US based factory. That was the point I was trying to make.

But you are correct lots of price, lease and even software, tires, adaptive light discussions are geographically specific. Like the 740M wheels are staggered in Europe and 275 all around in the US.

As I said, hopefully it was due to COVID-19 but without seeing the breakdown of options ordered by each region it is tough to speculate anything either way. It could be the demand for those options are much smaller and they can fulfill the orders. Similar to the reason given that Tartufo was available for the entire MY20 for the X7 but only for the last few months for the X5, the supplier could not keep up with the demand created by the X5.

It really doesn't matter what the real reason is as long as they come back soon.

I agree....I hope it does. The current power is okay but to get the numbers BMW claims, is nearly impossible. The bump in HP would be a welcome gain.

In the US, Riverside Blue has also been dropped for the X6 with Phytonic taking its place.
