U.K. discounts on X5?
Hi guys, I'm looking to get a new X5 and was just wondering what kind of deals some of you have got as I've been told a 20% discount is achievable!? Thanks in advance for your input and comments

When I got mine in september last year, I did get pretty close to 20% -mix of dealer discount, manufacturer incentive, superb money on my X3 etc - I have no idea how things have changes since -- but given the climate, I'd assume you can still get that by shopping around.
Check what they have in stock too, quite frankly given the virus scare, I wouldn't place an order for a custom car at this point (check the other threads about huge delays on some of the recent orders), I'd shop around for a stock car that is the closest to what you want. If it's not on a boat or close to completion, think about it!

X3s were heavily discounted last year anyway, same may not apply to X5, plus contributions change from quarter to quarter as well.

It's better to think about dealer discount before incentives. In the U.S. the best you can get is about 12% off MSRP before deducting factory rebates, BMW FS incentives, BMWCCA incentives, etc.

I got close to 20% I think (it was a complicated transaction!) back in August, off the *total* price.
I think doing your homework helps - I got quotes from all the usual brokers so I knew what was achievable. You need to be careful to get like for like - some for example usually quote for a sale on PCP which has the BMW incentive already baked in. I'd therefore make sure you're asking about cash price, then start on finance, as finance also often has an incentive. (Hence my comment on total price). |

Ironically when I was ordering the deals (especially contribution) were better on the higher end variants than the 30d's (probably because the 30ds are so popular).
