Audi and MB do the same thing so they're not alone

Car show Geneva.

Heya,

I’m going to the car show in Geneva either tomorrow or the day after. I’m looking to buy an x5, but if there are no laser lights and wrinkly seats I’m through with bmw.

I’m going to speak to bmw at the show to get their feedback about the lights.

Will revert back soon.

I heard they stopped production of the lasers on the X7 as well. Somebody mentioned a supply-shortage?!

Did I though? If they're disabled, then I didn't actually get them.

My X5 is only “scheduled” for production so it seems that I will not get them.
This is what I heard from the dealer.

“Looking like it's not discontinued, but back ordered and might not be available until May - "Allegedly” ”

They were always upfront that the anti-dazzle was not included, the issue you're talking about is the cornering lights but they also appear in the standard headlights do they not?

For NA cars, I wouldn't worry so much about laserlight. It barely works due to federal regulations.

Whew...glad mine rolled off the line last week! Don't pick up until 3/27 at the PC, so hoping for no surprises.

Mine was completed 2 weeks ago so I'm guessing they are on there. Keeping fingers crossed.

I assume BMWNA doesn’t reach out to you or your dealer to tell you that the laser lights won’t be on your car even though you ordered them - leaving you to just accept the build without them when you arrive to pick it up...

Who’s looking to sell their laser lights?

I understand that but what happens to people who are waiting on their build do they wait 2-3 months and get the lights or just get it on time without the lights and a discount ? They have to do something

So I found it it's a supply issue. The dealer at this point has not been informed as to when this option will be available.

In Canada some of our Packages such as the "Excellence Package" come with laser lights in it and that package would now get a $1,000 credit / reduction.

I guess for those in Canada that don't care for it, will get a nice break of a $1,000 discount. For those who want it, they will have to wait and no one knows at this point how long that will be.

I'm just so grateful my car got produced with them. She's painted and on the way.

Not having them on a fully loaded X5 would not be a compromise I could accept. After using them, I certainly can see a difference when they turn on and at this price point, it would be a deal breaker even if they work at a limited application in NA at this point in time. When the laws catch up and the Laser lights can be coded for full function, those that didn’t get them cause of this will be very unhappy.

I agree and a forum buddy of mine is in this predicament. It's a deal breaker for him. He's not happy about it.
