extended production time for tartufo interior

there have been many comments about production times, so I might have missed this.

My sales associate just told me that ordering tartufo interior will extend the production time by 4 weeks. He associated that with it being an "individual" color.

Is this what others have been told and/or are experiencing?

Thanks,
Allen

I don't think "individual" colour is the issue. Based off of the G05 threads, roughly 50% of the buyers prefer Tartufo as their interior. So the delay seems fair...

I ordered my 50i with tartufo interior less than a month ago and it's already been built and in the quality check area of production. So if that's the case, it must be a very recent development.

There's no way that can be true outside of this forum. Tartufo is the least common color on dealer lots by a mile. Most non enthusiastbuyers hate it.

Make sure the dealer has an allocation he can modify. He might be trying to sell you an incoming car

As an enthusiast I buy nothing but black/graphite interiors with a matching headliner. No other interior colour interests me.

"Hate"? Really? You have any polling data to back that up? I'm sounding snarky, but really just curious how you know this wisdom😎

Hahahahaha, I've been on this community since 2018 and I must say, Tartufo is quite a popular choice.

Dealers only order black/coffee/white interiors because it's quite the standard choice of a colour that buyers don't mind purchasing, hence easier to sell....

Tartufo is beautiful and people seem to underestimate how good the color is in person.

Yes hate. My evidence comes from standing around a tartufo interior at a busy dealership on a Saturday and watching reactions. Common phrases were "barf" "ugly" "looks orange" etc. It seems women really don't like it. Delarships observe this and don't order it for inventory as a result. I would bet money that tartufo is less than 10% of total production.

Personally I like it and will probably be ordering it on my next car. Most people don't have enough class to appreciate this color.
