Automatic lane change
Does anyone one know how to change lane automatically? When I am in ACC with lane keep mode, turn signal can't start the auto lane change. By the way, I disabled steer intervention, everything else in the driving assistance is on. Thanks

I believe you have to be in the driver assisted mode, not just ACC. Car also has to be going faster than 40mph. All you have to do is push down on the turn signal just to the point of resistance and hold it there for a split second. The car will take it from there.

Are you holding it at that spot for a second or two? If you're in drive assist mode and going over 40mph, you should just have to hold the turn signal just to the point of resistance - not past it, as if you were making a left/right turn - but just to that point. Then you will see the green arrow on the driver assist screen come one indicating it will be switching lanes soon.
To further try and clarify, the turn signal stalk has two settings. If you push it past it's resisting point, the turn signal will stay on until you shut it off, or the steering wheel turns and kicks it off. The other setting is just before that point, where if you push the stalk up (or down) slighly the turn signal will blink once, 3 times or 5 times depending on your setting. This is the area that you want to hold it for a second or two to get auto lane change to kick in. |

The other issue could be you don't have the setting toggled. Edit: indicator light does light up when initiating auto lane change then obviously stays on while changing lanes. |

Like explained hold it just before the point of resistance for 2-3 seconds. A yellow arrow appears on the assisted drive display in the centre and the car switches lanes if there is no car on the lane next to you. Took some getting used to finding the correct point. If you start steering yourself it stops the action. This might be one of the issues when it doesn't work? To be honest it changes lanes quite abruptly . I am used to do changes lanes less brusquely. It works but I still prefer doing the lane changes myself. It's more a thing to show your friends than a thing that I would use everyday. |

When I have ACC on, automatic lane change only requires a single quick pull and release of the turn-signal lever to the resistance point right or left, and the car takes over. Hands-off the wheel, or only lightly touching. All my settings are on, 2020 model.

What others have said... took me awhile to figure it out even after I read the forum. Basically press it down halfway for a second or two and it should do it.

Yeah, you're pushing the stalk too far. You just have to slightly push it up or down. It's not hard to do, just very hard to explain.

Yeah - that's how I do it too. In reality, I hold it there until I see the green arrow pop up, but that typically happens by the time my brain can process. I've done it so often it's second nature now which makes it even harder to explain to others how to do it. I don't even think about it.

Added to the pantheon of stuff I thought was just "fluff." Automatic Lane Change? Nah, I'll never use that. Gesture Control? Nah. Reverse Assist? Nah. Things that I use all the time now and never think about them. I suppose people who never had sliced bread don't know what they're missing either.
