Coming from a fully loaded 2014 X5, I'll be losing

• Glass/Ceramic controls (nice "premium" feel)
• 4 Zone Climate Control (with a dog we use this a lot)
• Soft close doors (Would be nice to have)
• Leather seats (The old option whatever it was called was far inferior to the current standard Sensafin IMO)

Of those the only one I'll truly miss is the 4 zone climate control. I can't believe what we pay for these cars and they don't include this as a standard feature.

The climate comfort package that includes 4 zone climate was available on the 40i sometime back but apparently due to supply issues it was removed on that model. Its possible it will come back .... I originally got this option myself on my E70 for my dog and it was a very useful feature.

Production Begins does not mean that assembly has begun but rather that a VIN has been assigned and parts ordered/allocated. The actual assembly will take place on your production date and takes less than a day to complete. Now that you are in 150 (Production Begins) you can use the "F12" process to get your production date.

If you do the "F12" trick you should be able to see the production date in the parameters that will tell you roughly when its completed assembly.

not anxious about it , but when I saw production begins I thought I will report that
my dealer said it is 8/11 initially but I will check your suggestion to see what it says

8/11 falls into week 32, so maybe you got bumped up 1 week !

Well, I flipped to 150 today with VIN assigned and production date of 2023-08-14

At least it isn't a Friday ;-)

I just went Production Begins today with a VIN assignment and production date 8/16

I will continue to obsessively check every two hours until delivery day

That would depend on your location and the trucking situation which seems to be getting worse based on the delivery times we are seeing.

Assembly takes less than a day. During normal times with no QC delays you would get it a day or two after your assembly date. Given the delays we have seen getting a truck it may add a few days.
