is there more than one BMW dealer who can provide good discount on BMW Platinum plan?

is there more than one BMW dealer who can provide good discount on BMW Platinum plan?

I know the usual one, but I also want to get quotes from others before I aske them. Nothing wrong with shopping around, right?

I'm taking delivery tomorrow, but I believe that I can purchase the plan until it reaches 49999 miles or 47 months and 29 days?(whichever comes first, of course)

My previous cars for the last 30+ years were all driven to 5, 6 or even 7 years, so I think the extended warranty is wise for me, especially since it's my very first BMW.

I'm interested in this as well. With respect to when you can purchase the coverage, it is my understanding that with the BMW plans the price goes up a bit when your car hits 20k miles.

Also, from my prior research, there appears to be about $2k profit for the dealer in these plans and the one dealer you reference tends to offer about 1k off the price you see in your BMW garage. So, one would think there might be some additional savings to be had....

precisely I'm looking to see if there are better deals out there. (but of course I do understand that BMW dealers have make some profit in order to put food on their tables)

as for the prices going up as the car ages, yes, I was aware of that... it is always cheaper to buy it as early as possible. it's basically an insurance policy after all.

when I shopped for a Lexus factory extended warranty many years ago, I was in my cheapskate-mode... so I basically found the best online pricing from a Toyota/Lexus dealer(Troy something). It was already 40% off what my local Lexus dealer wanted. But I took that discounted price and sent emails to dozens of Lexus dealers and asking if they would beat it. After a month of this, one Lexus dealer in Maryland called me back and I ended up getting the Lexus 7 year 100k extended policy at 51% off the original $4500 price. (which just goes to show how much the profit margin was)

I shopped this briefly last month and went with the ‘usual’. If I recall correctly, she was about 1,500 better than ‘sticker’. I reached out to a couple of other dealers and posted on the X7 forum to try and find a better price and was unsuccessful.

You are correct. ESC cost to dealers goes up ~$700 at the 20,000-mile threshold (exact amount varies by model, but that's the amount for G8x).

BMW's offering fits those own drive an average amount of miles for 5-7 years. Zurich Insurance offers comparable coverage and a much wider variety of month/mileage terms, such that 'road warriors' or low-mileage, long-term owners can opt for coverage tailored to their circumstances. For same terms, the Zurich offering costs a bit less than BMW's, but the convenience/brand of BMW likely offsets the cost savings for most owners.
