Exhaust Burble

I'm not so much into pops and crackles but I do miss the burble of my f80.

Ive spoken to a few tuners that can add back the oem burble. Anyone had any luck with this.

Anyone used these guys.

Very interesting and a little exciting that they're showing us what's possible, outside what everyone's shared here. I'm worried the ECU mod to produce exhaust burbles will void the drivetrain warranty, as per BMW's recent campaign.

if you read this thread there is a guy that i have been in contact with that has worked out what needs to be changed to go back to factory burbles in the new M5 and M8.

Since f95/96 never had pops and bangs not sure if same parameters could be used from f90 that’s of course once they figure out how to access f95/96 ecu.. at least on f90 they can pull up copy of parameters from pre July 19 models and replicate exactly the same..

Nothing needs copied, it is a toggle of an option on the ECU parameter list. I was talking to a local shop here and they are going to have me come in next week so they can see what we are dealing with on the F95. He informed me BMW has been locking them for awhile now and its a matter of time or who finds the method to break it. Fingers crossed they are skilled enough to find a way. I did let him know Manhart and some others have the ability to flash but he said they typically don't share to the aftermarket tuner community. Just his perspective I guess. More to come when I get time to stop in next week.

Anyone got anywhere with this.

I've heard a few people do it. My shop here has started to look but it's going to take a while.

There is a shop in NY that did it to a purple one and it sounds awesome

Couldn't agree more. Every POS car here in NY now has "burble/gun shot" tunes.

The gun shot tunes are lame af, but mpe exhaust + f80 oem comp tune sounds great when you let off the throttle. I'd love something like this on my x5mc.. I find it too quiet!

How loud is the akra exhaust when the valves are closed? Do you tow with your x5? I wonder if it would drone or otherwise be annoying? I've got an akra on my 1M and love it, leaning towards it for the X5 as well..
