Was it a factory fit or did you have to force it in place. I heard some posters state that they didn't fit the same as what came from the factory.

Excellent. I'll be doing this for my 2021 X7 as soon as I get it.

Mystro, sorry to see you got a defective part there, that they put a W instead of the M.

Just to update. I have done the factory/oem projectors in all my vehicles using the same part number. A 2019 G05 X5 50i M-Sport, 2019 M2 Comp, 2020 X7 M50i. They all fit on the snug side when installing them. I like to use a butter knife to pop the puddle lights out. Then when installing the projector housing in, you never pop them all the way in until you have the graphic/slide in the correct orientation. Connect the light up to the power, hold it up somewhat in its square hole to get a idea of what its going to look like projecting on the floor. I do this in my garage with the lights off. You can spin the slide inside the light housing so it lines up with the bottom of the door its in. This is a ocd issue that needs to be done. Unplug the light and use a small screwdriver to push on the tab of the slide in the light to rotate it one way or another. This may take you a few tries hooking it up to the power and checking.
Every one will need to be custom adjusted to the door they are going into so the text or logo lines up with the line of the open door. When popping them in the door, I like to put one side in all the way in so it catches first then rock the other side up and in till it is flush. Use the palm of your hand push firmly. These have always been a tight fit.

Notice how the logo is even with the line of the open door. A askew logo to the door line looks bush-league.

So, I got the new LED projectors (part #63312468386). If they indeed supposed to fit G05 then it's a horrible product. I got 2021 X5 45e M Sport and these lights simply don't fit in the hole from the original door lights as the body of the projector light is slightly longer then the original lights. I had to make the holes on both front doors slightly larger by cutting the corners next to the notch in front of the hole. After doing that I was able to pop the projectors in. However, the projected image is partially blocked by the bottom of the door. It looks like the painted metal part of the door below the plastic trim (where the light is installed) is in the way of the projection so part of the image is shining on the bottom part of the door. It's almost unnoticeable with the "M" logo lenses but totally unacceptable with the "BMW" circle logo ones as the part of the circle has a shadow from the door. Did anyone have the same issues? Is the problem with the new part #63312468386 and the old one (63312414105) fits and projects properly? Thank you.

I can but later. What about the fact that they partially shine on the bottom painted metal part of the door? I see part of the projection reflecting off the metal. You didn't have the same problem?

No. Something is up with what is going on in your set-up.

Which part number did you use? Why are you saying to use a screw driver to push on some tab to rotate the image? The new part I got can be be rotated with you finger.

Cutting Corners....

"I had to make the holes on both front doors slightly larger by cutting the corners next to the notch in front of the hole."

I just did the same thing and it worked quite well. I cut away the two small plastic corners next to the notch on the bottom of the door. I used a box cutter.

Do you have the same issue of part of the projection shining on the bottom metal part of the door creating shadows in the image?

I went OEM, and I love these. They are good quality. The frame of the projectors is metal. I was hoping for the "X" insert but the BMW sign works for me as well.

No issues. I am using the M image and it seems to be projecting 100% down to the ground, and not hitting the bottom of the door.

So, you don’t see even a small part of the projected image reflecting off the inside bottom painted metal part of the door almost right under where the light is installed? Are you using new or old part number? You have a 2020 M50i, right?

I used an edge cutter and a very minimal application of violence, but yeah same thing here. You just square off that clip edge (the one opposite where the wire is coming from) as per the directions included with the projectors, and everything pops in without issue.

Yes, 2020 X5 M50i and I used new (I think) part # 63-31-2-468-386, 'BMW Led Projectors 68MM.' Don't see anything reflecting off the door.

Wait a second, do the instructions actually tell you to cut those edges off ? I saw a weird picture in the step after the one that tells you to remove existing lights but didn't understand what it meant.

Looks to me like this is a "Jury-Rig" fit and not the same as the original projectors that come with the vehicle. You shouldn't have to cut anything out of the housing where you insert the projector lens.

I'm definitely not interested if this is what it takes to make them work.

Then you definitely won't have LED door projector lights

Instructions on the OEM part do say you need to use a box cutter to shave two small lips off the housing. It's really no big deal to do, these lips are tiny. Doing so does not affect esthetics or the fitting of the original lights.

I can’t figure out what the picture for shaving off corners in the instructions exactly tells me to do. I only clipped the corners next to the front clip of the light where the notch in the hole is. It looks like the picture shows that all four corners need to be clipped plus also something in the middle of the hole. I feel like I didn’t clip things correctly as the passenger side door projector image is partially obstructed by the door (see the third picture below). I assume the light is not perfectly parallel to the ground.

Also, can someone who has the projectors installed see if they do get some of the projector light shining on the door (see second picture below). I get this large sort of semi-circle of the projector light shining on both driver and passenger door which I guess is normal since the light is close to the door and it doesn’t seem to be causing any issues on my driver side door. However, as you can see from the second picture of the passenger door there is a bright spot of the projector right inside the semi-circle which I think is the actual projected image getting obstructed by the painted door trim. Thank you.

They are not the OEM projectors I used in my 3 BMW vehicles. My part #63312414105.

They are definitely OEM. As I said I am using the new part number 63312468386 which from what I can tell has a different trim finish. Can you confirm that yours spread some light on the bottom painted part of the door? I see a blue speck of light at the bottom of the door on one of your photos.
