If you’re worried about “road noise” while on highway trips, stick with the 20” wheels and the extra rubber sidewalls make a world of difference. It’ll also protect your wheels and be much cheaper/easier to buy replacement tires.

Saw this topic and checked my X5 50e with 22” from factory (Netherlands car) and the dampers are installed on my car.

Thanks for the information. It appears that 50e gets factory installed dampers in Europe and also Australia. But not in the U.S. market.

But do the 20”wheels have them from the factory or just the larger sizes?

My 2020 X5 with 20" wheels had them from the factory.

Yes, but do any LCIs with 20" wheels (from outside the U.S.) have them? I already know that the U.S. ones do not.

Here’s
a photo of the front spension lower arm on my 2024 X5 50e with 21 inch rims ( front drivers side, looking aft) — no “damper”. That said mine is quiet.

You could ask another question which is whether any U. S. market LCIs with 22" wheels have factory dampers (I don't think so). I drove a X5 40i loaner LCI with 21"wheels and no dampers. There was a noticeable difference in noise level to my car with dampers. We know that no 50e has factory installed dampers. If you have followed this thread its clear that dampers do make some difference. The question is why would BMW stop installing them on U.S. vehicles?

Just as a follow up to the vibration dampers...I test drove a 2024 X5 M60i today, looked under the front and found vibration dampers installed. I also looked under a showroom X7 and sure enough it also had the dampers. As far as been reported, no X5 LCI 40i or 50e has the dampers installed.

The dampers did help a little but not as much as I expected. Still very disappointed overall. Would expect better from BMW. Something I just find difficult to get use to. I hope they find a better fix.

Seems there are quite a few posts complaining about 50e road noise with 21' wheels.

Does any 40i owners have the same road noise issue, especially with large wheels such as 22' 742M?
