Like TurtleBoy says I should wait, but the intent now is trying to get the car by year's end. If it were June, I wouldn't care about ordering now. It would totally suck to wait a couple weeks and get this car on January 2, 2023 and not get the tax deduction. I'm mean, the dealer knows if they order a 45e, they'll sell it anyway. I'm dealing w/ the dealership that has my car in on the lift for the last 50 days. Of note, it is not the dealership that I originally bought the car, but that doesn't really matter. |

GOOD NEWS
Looks like both local dealers (owned by the same team) will not force me to buy w/ the new markups.
And BMWNA actually called today and I explained the issues, and they're trying to get me loyalty discount to ensure I don't pay anything over MSRP. in the end most of the BMW team are being pretty fair. Last edited by leightos; 10-06-2022 at 03:25 PM.. |

Woo-hoo! I got a production # and it's in status 112.
Thank you everyone. Like everyone said if you be nice to them they will be nice back to me. They swapped for an allocation. Just need a build week. Already loaded into MYBMW tracking. |

Congratulations. Hopefully this one arrives in a timely manner and is trouble free for the entire time you have it.

On your new car delivery comment before year end for the $7,500 fed tax credit. Is this because you think the 200k units will be gone by year end, or you want the ability to apply on your '22 tax returns? My '22 X5 45e, after 44 days, may be ready for pick up today - assuming the final quality checks are okay. I still am waiting on BMWNA's regional team's response to my buyback request. |

The 45e will no longer be eligible for the tax credit starting 1/1/23 due to the battery requirements.

That's why I figured since I'm waiting, and since I know BMWNA will buy it back, I better order a new one now (if I can). If you recall, I called BMWNA on the first day this 45e failed. I knew this was a serious problem (and my car was also a recall vehicle, and I knew I probably had a lemon). Yesterday, the local BMW dealer knew a contact at BMWNA, and while I was there he called about my buyback case, and they confirmed it. So that was enough for the GM here to start helping me to iron out a fair order. In your case, I suspect on the 25th business day from when you called they will give you an answer. Remember to make sure you put all your requests in writing. I hope also you get the best outcome. Good luck |
