So, from the speaker that I had removed I know that the center speaker part number is 65-13-2-622-774 .

How do I find the part number for the door speakers without taking them out?

Click the link below... Make sure you look up B&W part numbers as they are different speakers from both of the H/K options available.

Thank you. I've been doing a lot of testing last night, and I pretty much have to take back whatever I said before. The distortions I was experiencing are basically volume and source related, and maybe a little bit related to the speakers not yet being broken in. I found that the B&W speaker sounds very good even compared to aftermaket speakers, and I'm considering swapping B&W speakers into my X5 since they are the same size as Logic 7.

A few people have swapped. There are a few sets on ebay currently. Good luck with it and I hope you find and resolve the issue that is causing you all this grief.

LOL, there is literally no issue, its just a volume and source issue. Yes, certain things distort it I almost max out the volume, but I never listen at max volume anyway - below 80% volume level everything seems fine.

And at lower volume level certain things distort from the source, and I guess these speakers have such broad frequency response that you hear everything that's in the source, which may not be the case with cheaper speakers. I downloaded a bunch of flac files yesterday and was able to confirm certain distortions in the source with my headphones and then did a comparison video. It's a long video, but I basically compared L7, B&W, Bimmertech, Bavsound - and B&W sounds best to me.

wow, I am glad it's working out for you. Mine isn't broken in yet. It should sound even better once broken in.

Swapped bowers & wilkins midranges into my E70. Couldn't do the tweeters as E70 Logic 7 tweeters have an inline filter, and B&W tweeters do not - the amp must have a built in cross over.

Going to do some research if the subs can also be swapped in.

I wager there is an integrated crossover and capacitor because it seems to be the only external unit in the entire system outside of the speakers. In addition the amp is a different P/N than the other audio options (IIRC). BSW may have other solutions for your on the E70 that are far more cost effective and just as good as the BW/BO.

Not impressed with BSW (Bavsound). Replaced Bavsound midranges in the E70 with the Bowers.

Understandable. They're a decent alternative for the price point and ease of installation. What is the next step?

I'm relatively happy right now, going to replace Bavsound subs with B&W as well. It looks like they do fit.

If you sit in one with the B&W and one without it is a big difference in sound quality. I wish I would have spent the extra money for it.

Thanks for everyone's feedback and comments. I ended up getting one without the sound system and the original Harman Kardon sound system is pretty good.

For $420 installed at the dealership...... yes they do:

Make fun of me all you want, about how "old and outdated" I am..... but it was worth every penny. I've got about 150 of my favorite CDs loaded to my hard drive.... and the sound quality is impeccable. Better than the radio, better than Spotify.... No bluetooth delay, no sound degradation, no low-quality streaming...and no messing with my phone when I'm driving.

Load a CD one time..... and it's yours forever on your hard drive, available anytime, at the highest quality sound level, with no complications..... and then you can put the CD back in the dusty box in your basement.
