Finally. I have been waiting for that functionality for 1.5 years and it's finally here. Now need to wait for another year to get 07/20

Mixed bag. It fixed my camera misalignment. It created serious parking display issues with spouse's virtually identical 40i.

Dealer can "program" to fix that. Just had the same issue fixed last week on my M850i.

Thanks - saw that earlier! Service due next month, so plan on it. Just doesn't promote faith in OTA updates with what should be pretty straightforward in practice. Software has very apparently not been BMW's long suit in the introduction of the G05.

I too am on 7/2019 and just got the notification to upgrade to 11/2019. It seems many here have been getting OTA updates to later versions... will I be promoted to update again once I do this update?

I got this notification yesterday and didn’t do the update yet as we left on vacation yesterday and need the car - don’t want to risk anything getting messed up. The update did download to my phone while at home and transferred to the car during our drive yesterday. Btw do we need to make sure the vehicle has a network connection while doing the update? I am going to wait until we are back home next week to do the update on the car.

There have been no OTA updates to versions newer than 11/2019 although many people have had newer updates installed by a dealer.

Does that apply to other models as well? A friend has a 3 series that he bought a couple of months ago (so i believe it had a newer version than 11/2019) and got an OTA update about a month ago to some other newer version.

I have not really been following other models closely but from remarks posted here, all models are on the same schedule. I can't speak to what your friend got but when I last was on the 3 series forum the only OTAs they got were 11/2019.

Edit: I just looked through the 3 series forum and as of 8/23 the OTA update for the 3 series was 11/2019.70. Perhaps your friend was referring to an Apps and Services update rather than iDrive.

Easily possible - I am not sure to be honest. He got the car mid 2020 so while I think he told me updated to a later version I may be mis-remembering and just assuming based on his car being from a later date. I really don’t know.

Separately, as I mentioned on a different thread, I did just update my car and seem to have similar issues to what Paladin1 showed above. My backup camera looks similar to that image. Additionally the interior lights no longer turn on and the lower part of the trunk has stopped working. Gah. At least I waited till we were back in town. Think the car is safe for the commute tomorrow?

I would think it is safe and it could be that after the sleep reset tonight some or all of your problems will be gone.

I had the same thought. It is parked in the garage now so we’ll see in the AM.
