Got the vehicle in the dealership today running 11/2019.34, requested for 07/2020 update but the dealer said there is no update available. Told me to wait for OTA coming in a month or two.

Surprised they won't even have update at 03/2020 which I assume should be widely available, this is in Canada though. Very disappointed.

Mine told me the same and only installed it after going to the shop for an who I have a great relationship with. He told me if the vehicle is not having an issue that is specifically addressed with an update they won’t do it since they aren’t getting paid by BMW for it.

I noticed that since the 07/20 update the car stopped locking automatically as I go away from her. The iDrive settings look correct.

Fix: Usual 30+ seconds hold of the volume button. I also turned the car back on and off before going out (can't tell if this part of solution). Auto lock is working again after.

That's good to know. Glad you got updated. I remember reading similar points so I mentioned some glitches to increase the chance, but looked like they weren't enough. Saw some forum members got through and decided to try my luck.

No way around the OTA for now then, already many posts complaining about the slow progress, gotta be patient.

Spoke to two BMW dealers in California- Burlingame & Mountain View. Both were oblivious that software updates can be done at the dealer and told me it would happen through OTA and I should wait for it.
If someone know a dealer in the SF bay area who is up to speed on things, let me know...

Just hand them the following SIB and tell them you are having this problem. They will update your car. If they refuse contact BMW NA/Customer Service and file a complaint. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...75285-9999.pdf.

Advise them you are having issues with Apple Car Play connection keeps on dropping. This way they can do the update and still get paid via BMW.

That didn't originally work for me. They pulled codes showing there was a connection error with the device as well as pulling up various posts on apple.com showing CarPlay connection issues that were being discussed on their forum. (My dealer has the tech make a video explaining what all has been done and that was part if it)

It wasn't until I contacted the shop foreman that I was able to get it done. He said he would do it as a goodwill gesture if the regional engineer didn't approve the update but it was approved.

In my case I figured the problems were the phone since they seem to have stated after an iOS update and they were. I bought an SE and the connection has been solid.

Your dealer is a dumbass. You're in Canada (tell us who your dealer is) and there has been NO OTA UPDATES IN CANADA to date reported at all, so his "wait a few months for OTA" comment is ignorant, arrogant, and dismissive to a paid customer.

Yeah, everything's the same as what's reported in the "Remote Software Upgrade - I took my case to the BBB" thread. I asked another dealer as well, one in Toronto (provided vin) and one just outside (went in). I also called BMW Canada about this, none gave firm answers on how can I actually get it done.

Based on the latest posts from the BBB thread (sorry don't know how to link them here), 11/2019 is not gonna be released OTA until the end of 2020 and 07/2020 is min half year from there, no wonder I don't even get 11/2019.70. Like you said, most members that got updated via OTA or dealer are in EU/US.

It just seems neither the corporate nor the dealership want to be responsible for this with continuous delay and evasive behaviors, nothing changes.

Always worth a shot, but the less than competent Canadian dealers ignore US SIBs and say stupid stuff like "that's in US, not an issue here". They know that you can't threaten them with a US regulator.

Navigation menu items

Since updating to ver 07/2020.30. The Nav menu options seem to have changed. And now there is no option to Add Address the traditional way (Suburb, Street, Number...)

Also, I can no longer set key shortcuts to address Favourites.

Looks like you are in split screen mode. Could that be the issue?

Or did it automatically change the nav menu options? You can change what the menu on the left shows.

I thought I had messed something up while coding, glad that's not it. I was surprised by the same thing, kinda simplistic

My car got updated to 07/2020.30 today because I had some issues with the connecteddrive app on my telephone.

But now the Drive Recorder app does not work anymore. (3 other apps)

Can anyone comment on whether the personal assistant has different graphics on 07/2020? Also, has anyone noticed any changes with the Nav maps/Traffic. It was supposed to be moving to a cloud based system.

My two cents worth: Unless you are wanting Android Auto, stay on 03/2020. The 07/2020 seems to have some minor issues and also you are likely to lose any coding you have done. I do not know if Bimmercode works for 07/2020 as yet, and if it does, just how many options are available.

As for mine, the Traffic Camera assistant is not showing in Instrument Panel as well as HUD and also Sport Display no longer showing when you select on Sport Display mode (have to select Always Show) then it consistently display on the HUD
