I got the Camera failure warning message 3-4 times where all cameras stop working... even after restarting the engine, software issue? The cameras work just fine next day though.

I googled the problem and all I've seen are topics about "Camera Malfunction" warning which from what I read is different from what I have.

Any thoughts?

Garage List
Just got this for my camera as well. I got a 2024 X5 50e and it is the first time I got this camera failure after owning my X5 for almost 5 months. I just turned my car off and then turned it back on and it seemed to worked itself out.

Did you end up doing something else?

Have this issue on my 2024 X5, ever since I picked it up in may. Finally took it in for service this morning, and also provided them with images of the issue occurring.

I have semi nailed it down to experiencing this after the truck is opened, and guessing there is a loose connection somewhere that 'fixes' itself from driving vibration.

I'll report back with what the dealer comes back with.

Picked up my 2024 X5 back after taking it in for the camera malfunction errors. They updated the camera software and installed/upgraded to iDrive 8.5.

Vehicle was in the shop for over 2 days, so I am assuming they pulled data off the car, sent it to BMW corporate so they could sift through it. The service advisor did state there was camera faults found.

Now time will tell to see if the software fixed it, or if there may be a physical connection issue.

Our recently just went dark when backing up but we never received any type of failure notification. Seems there is a good amount of bugs in the '24s

Well my 1 month old X5 has been all week at the dealer and they still have no clue about the reason for the camera failure. They tried software upgrade, electronic diagnostics, first it was supposed to be a control module, and now may be a random false contact.

Forgot to post my follow-up from months ago... the software upgrade that the dealer performed, did in fact fix my camera issue.

So this is the 9th day my new X5 is at the dealer's for warranty work, trying to find the camera failure source.

The S.A. sent my this picture, below. As you can see, they are now ripping the interior trim. Checking all the camera's power lines and connections.

I miss the legendary German build quality. I did not think it would really matter, but...
