Haven't driven one though and looks are subjective so that's my opinion

Similar to LSM, I would say the performance of the X6M would be just fine. The looks I am not sure. From the front and side pretty good, aside from the wheel gap. 22 inchers may help that. I use to think I wanted a X6M, I am leaning X5M or M5.

If I needed a car with high ground clearance (which I do), but didn't care about trunk space (which I do), I would've picked X6M over X5M. I do think it looks better, and is identical performance-wise. On 2nd thought if I didn't need the size I'd pick X4M.

As the others have said, if you would like the added space, X5M is the way to go, plus its about $3500 less. To me, this is the best looking X5M to date. It's more useable in snow/off-road with the higher ride height and I know I'll think about the X5M every single time I'm getting large items at Home depot.
That being said, I went X6M because I don't buy large items often. It is supposedly 50lbs lighter, stiffer chassis, and has a lower center of gravity. Will I feel any benefits of that? Probably not one bit, but I do however love the styling more than the X5M. It looks more aggressive with the slanted kidneys and bumper up front, and I find the rear looks like nothing else on the road (for better or worse in some eyes! lol). You can't go wrong either way. Best of luck on your decision! |

Then you have the third gen. I can't get over the rear end styling, it's just awful is what comes to mind. I like suv coupes just not this latest BMW X6.

Curious, what are you looking for in another vehicle?

Will anyone ever be riding in the back seat? If so, go sit in the back of an X6 for yourself first and see how cramped it is.

May want to sit in back and check cargo space with seats down for any SUV coupe you choose. Sloped roof and all.

We are on our second one, and absolute love them. When the original X6 debuted, soon followed by cheap copy cats such as Acura ZDX, I did not like the styling - but then it grew on me a lot over the years. It is very practical and stylish and with so much performance - truly first of a kind that now everyone is trying to copy.

Should possibly work, just test the back seats as they are tight for the class. An X5M would be much better at replacing a Tahoe in terms of cargo capacity as the sloped roofline can provide inconveniences.
