That will happen if the size of the image exceeds the max on any edge.

Thanks! It really balances out all the black in front IMO. Initially, I was thinking about repainting the bumper to allow for a bit more white (similar to the pre-lci)...but I really think this works even better.

Congrats on getting your car, can you possibly share the shop name and location that you are getting the tint and ceramic done. Thanks

ACK! My xDrive40i was build in Week 16 on 4/13. Has been sitting waiting for PCD delivery this Friday on 5/10. Was just informed of a STOP SALE on the car so I have to cancel the PCD. There is no date when this will be resolved.

Anyone else have a STOP SALE notice for cars built around this time? Is there a reason this would apply to only 1 vehicle and/or why they wouldn't have caught it until now? TurtleBoy any thoughts?

I just got the same call- our X5 S40i was built on 4/15 and PCD is 5/9.

Crud! So sounds like something is off they need to address more broadly.

What is your plan G05BMWFNG ? I was given the option of attending the PCD as scheduled and buying a flight back or rescheduling PCD once the stop sale is removed. I worry that I'll be at the back of the line again if I reschedule the PCD. Last minute returns from to MI aren't cheap at the moment either.

We are going to attend pcd- just cancel the 1 way car rental and drive our car. We booked 4 nights of cabins, hotels, casinos all the way home and it’s too much trouble to cancel. We are only 4 hours away. The plan was to enjoy the new car and learn it on some back roads

Sorry you had this happen. I have not seen anything on it yet. Like is quite a few vehicles. It can take awhile for them to find out there is a problem and then they have to go back through production records, vendor and receiving information, etc. to try and determine what vehicles were affected. Often they start with a big pool and whittle it down based on getting more information.

I know that many week 16 vehicles had software loading issues, navigation, apple car play, etc. These issue were easily fixed at the dealership. Would the cars being at PCD with the same issues (if that were the case) have a more difficult time getting fixed or worked on? Would PCD handle it differently (stop sale)? Strange coincidences so just curious.

Yeah. Dunno. Hopefully this is just a small group of build and not the tip of some iceberg. Timing is just unfortunate.

PCD handles the stop sales just like dealers do, only better.

Was told there is a new Safety Information Bulletin regarding “front lower seat belts” effecting x5, x6, x7 including M models built between April 5-20 2024. That’s what triggered the stop sale and will likely effect others.

Not sure if I’m allowed to share the screenshot I have. Probably in the process of moving through the system.

My 40i was built on 04/19. It's currently in transit to the west coast.

The CA told me today that "BMW just issued a software recall on all the X5's" and my car is on the list, so it needs to get a software update at the processing center. Only after the update can it be shipped to the dealer.

He also mentioned that the software update can be easy to do but "the software needs to be released by BMW AG first."

Is anybody facing the same situation? I tried to check for recalls by VIN on the BMW website but found nothing.

He is not quite correct on the process. Vehicles with a stop sale are shipped to the dealers and held there until a fix can be applied. They are not held at the factory. Software versions are constantly being released so hopefully it is a quick wait.

It is not a recall so it wouldn't be on that site. Try these two and see of anything shows up:
