For reference, I have 07/2023.40 and was upgraded to 07/2023.45. However, there could have also been an ECM specific code flash as well.
Thank goodness the CEL wasn’t on today. Whew!! I will keep an eye on it but hopefully a visit to service has been deferred.

All those talk about CEL makes me bit uneasy.

I sent email to my SA asking him to make sure all software are updated and no CEL.

Not sure anything else I need ask them.

Let us know if they update the software, if you find out, since most dealers will not do that as part of PDI.

My SA replied: "We have already done a thorough pre-delivery inspection on the vehicle, all checks out".

I guess since my production date is in September, I can assume it will have iDrive 8.5?

thanks

Yes, your vehicle was built with 8.5. It will not be up to date though as the software the vehicle is built with is rarely, if ever, the latest version. Your SA is just avoiding saying your software won't be updated.

Anyone east of the Rockies not have their production week 36 vehicle yet? For those that have their’s, any substantive issues?

No issues whatsoever. Few annoyances but overall happy with it. Just wish BimmerCode still worked more than anything.

Ok. Writing this post to help anyone who is interested in M60i.

Timeline:
Ordered: 08/23
Production Date: 09/07
Ready to pickup: 09/16
Pick up date: 09/23

Pick up experience: went in, did little bit test drive, no issues, everything seems in order. Paid dealer in cash, paper work guy did push some warranties, I declined politely, didn't bother him, he's more interested to fix his printer. LOL

My SA get BMW Genius to help me to get familiar with new tech, spent 15 minutes, he helped to setup my phone key, etc. I entered my address in Navigation, got on road.

Driving: back home is 170 miles total, mixed local and highway. Overall this X5 is amazing, effortless. Cruise control is so much better than before. I did see "assistant plus ready" popping up, did not know what to do, so ignored. Need read menu.
Carplay worked flawlessly for 2 hours, then all of sudden not working (can not connect or something), what I did was disabled my iPhone bluetooth, then reenable it, that brought carplay back.
Did not notice road noise level is excessive. did not bother me. stock 20 in RFT
ASS, I can feel it. But lot more subtle than older BMW, none issue for me so far.
MPG: 21

Here is a few pictures. Last one is when cruise control is on, I feel BMW cruise control is more user friendlier than Tesla (I do not have FSD, comparing to regular auto pilot)

Thanks all for helping me to make this purchase.

When you learn to trust it you’ll love highway assist plus. Congrats. 🍾
