X5 driver seat position
Has anyone else noticed how askew their driver seat position is facing? My left front of the seat is several inches further from the front of the car than the seat’s right front. I find it causes me to heavily lean on the right side back bolster which isn’t really soft.
Is this position normal or is mine not properly mounted? It otherwise functions and adjusts normally. |

I think all my BMWs are like that. The front passengers sit slightly outward facing. Amongst mine, 135i is the most obvious. G05 is very slight outward. I don't think it is "several inch" different tho, maybe 1" at most.

I'll have to look for this next time I'm in the thing. But I do notice the steering wheel is a bit off-center compared with the instrument cluster.

I am lol. When I hop into my driver’s seat, I immediately feel the right bolster against my body. I have to lean towards the left to feel the left bolster.

I don't have this issue, the seat feels aligned and the steering wheel / instrument cluster are definitely centered. But one thing you could try is moving the seat all the way to the front/back of its adjustment range. That might somehow get the mechanism realigned.

I am very new owner of a 40i. 80mi on Odo, that new. Even I felt the same cross seating feeling today. I think it is all in the mind. I attribute it to the diagonal crease on the hood. It makes you feel you are not in a straight line and you tend to overcompensate for it. If you try to ignore that crease and always focus on the road ahead, I think we not have that sense. I really hope that is what it is. Thoughts?

23 X5, have had for a few months. Mine seems to be aligned. You might want to bring back to the dealer and tell them to fix it.

Just feels a bit off to me. Not so much while driving, since I'm getting more used to looking at the HUD, but when sitting.
