Ultimate Care/Brakes
What kind of mileage are you guys getting on your F95 brakes? I'm looking at the Ultimate Care plan for $850 and it looks like that's quite a bit cheaper than buying the brake pads and rotors for a DIY. But, the basic plan is only good for 3/36. Am I likely to need brakes by then?
No plans to track, just spirited driving on country roads. I searched Ultimate Care, maintenance plans, and several variations of X5M brakes but didn't find anything. Last edited by Appalachian; 07-25-2023 at 07:56 PM.. |

I don’t think it’s necessary Unless you drive it hard daily like a M car is meant to be driven.
With that being said I am at 31400 miles and had my 30k service about 2 months ago and brakes still have plenty of meat on them. Rotors are fine I did buy the +1 ultimate care which includes brakes and 4 yr 50k service as well but waste for me as I am itching to trade it in As a side note I also have m8gc bought same package but in hind sight waste as well I also do mostly highway driving. I am sure wear is more on local stop and go |

Currently @ 39K miles and I just had the 40K service done. Still, have the original brake pads and rotors installed. I bought the Ultimate Care+2 package and so far, no regrets. The tech advised that the brakes will be replaced during the 50K mile service. More than likely it will be only the pads and not the rotors but that remains to be seen.
I bought the Ultimate Care plan because I knew that I was going to keep the car for a very long time. If you are the type that buys, sells, and trades, don't bother. For me, I like to do everything myself and I have a garage and knowledge to back that up. But it has been nice to just take it there, give the M tech an energy drink, wait, and roll with a $0 bill every time. |

I replaced the front brakes on my m2 after about 65k miles. I bought the extra package with brake replacement included but it ended up being a waste...
It would have only been worth it if I tracked the car a few times a year, but anymore than that, most people would go with a track focused pad anyways and therefore not worth it again... I only used it for wiper blades in reality.

I have a 2020 X5M Comp and I just brought my vehicle in due to a fault in my seat belt sensor. My rear break pads have 4mm left and they are recommending replacement of pads and rotors. They want $2,500 for parts and labor. The labor alone is almost $900. Seems pretty high for a 2-3 hour job. Maybe I am missing something. I dont drive my car very hard except on occasion.
