If the rear kit could work with the stock X5M rear brake disc it would keep cost lower and attract more attention. The rear disc is already massive on our cars.

Yep, naturally I understand that, the offset of the factory disc does not allow for the bracket to be used, m5 rear has significantly less offset and offers a good bit of room to use the dual caliper bracket. This is definitely not for everyone and rotors could be pricey at 594 per set from bimmers.com , but im sure as these platforms age there will be substantial demand. I currently ship one kit about every 2-3 weeks but these will definitely become more popular with time !

Question to the OP.
How does this affect DSC and DAP+ function?

Total calculated piston area is about 12-15% larger than stock caliper. Given that there rear brakes do 25-30% of the actual braking (weight transfer, inertia etc) the difference in brake bias is negligible, so far i had 5 kits installed over the course of about 6-7 months, a couple of my customers are very spirited drivers and are extremely harsh on their suvs, so far there was 0 complaints, more so people note that their x5 feels more ‘square’ and predictable , possibly because of the monoblock nature of the main caliper vs stock floater

I believe DSC and DAP+ is using electronic brake to control the piston.
Since you are using a smaller caliper for the E-Brake, will it affect the functionality?
For manual pressure input from brake pedal, I know that it will be better.

I am pretty sure system uses your normal hydraulic caliper/abs pump operation for these functions, there is no way tiny motor would slow down a 5k lb suv effectively. I just dont see that happening. Stock electric motor is for parking function only, i tried to pull up info on this, but dont see any specifics. But i dont see how it would even assist with active braking , has to be your standard hydraulic assist function
